This is my first opportunity writing at better life community, which is a new community that I have found. When I 'm reading a contest that is held by @klen.civil I feel so enthusiastic and want to take part in the contest with the theme "save the world". So here I'am.

Today I want to show about my simple activity is about utilizing waste from plastic materials into objects that can be of artistic value. We should protect our environment through real action.

As we know, plastic waste is the most difficult waste to be decomposed by soil microorganisms. It takes hundreds or even thousands of years to decompose plastic waste. For that we as humans should be wise to use plastic materials. Wherever possible we must apply the REUSE, REDUCE AND RECYCLE principle in dealing with plastic waste and other materials that are difficult to decompose.

Based on the above, I'm trying to participate in DIY making plastic flowers from used plastic bags that we often use. The materials and tools used to do this DIY are very easy, as can be seen below.

▪︎flower vase from old glass bottles

Plastic Flower Making Tutorial

step.1
Prepare a colorful used plastic bag, then measure the length and width you want, mark it with a marker. About 20cm long and 10cm wide. Then cut it with scissors, until it becomes several sheets of the same size.

Arrange the plastic sheets that have been cut into several sheets, at least 10 sheets.Then stacked and folded into small pieces from end to end.

When finished folding in the middle tied with a small wire then, fold the plastic sheet was shaped until it blooms like flower petals. The last thing is to wrap the entire flower stalk made of wire with used plastic bags as well. Finally a plastic flower has been formed.

Repeat step 1 to step 4 using another colored plastic bag. To produce colorful flowers, on a layer of plastic sheet, you can use several plastic materials with different colors. As seen below

After several flower stalks are formed, put the flowers into a flower vase which also comes from used goods, namely used bottles. Plastic flowers are also ready to be displayed in the house to beautify your room.

Let's try to make it at home as a small action to save the earth from plastic waste. "If we don't care and take care of the earth, then who else?" Lets save the world from plastic waste.

That's my participation in this environmental contest. I hope that we will be more aware of the importance of preserving the earth through real actions, even though small but meaningful.
