HIV - ABCDE

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a chronic and a life threatening condition and it is caused by human immunodeficiency virus or what we have known as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). From the word itself, the main target of this virus is one's immune system as it interferes your body's ability to fight organisms that caused diseases. It is also one kind of Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). AIDS is the end stage of having HIV which is just started from STI.

Other way of spreading this kind of disease is by blood contact from infected person to other and by child birth and breast feeding. Sadly, there is no cure to AIDS/HIV but there's medication that can only slow down the progress of virus and having a healthy living.

There is ABCDE from DOH ( Department of Health in the Philippines). This way you can prevent HIV/AIDS.

A - Abstinence - no sex for short

B - be loyal to your partner, one is enough! you may never know if you can acquired this kind of disease if you have sex to other. There is no exemption even you are a boy or a girl, a gay or lesbian or even transgender.

C - condom- is the only family planning and birth control item that will prevent AIDS/HIV.

D - Do use clean needles - this kind of disease can also be transfer through blood contact.

E - Educate everyone about HIV/AIDS. There are many advertisements including the flyers, health unit that support this program and patients where confidentially protected.
