Propaganda Against Self-esteem
Naga indigenous have lived through two doctrines of genocide — with their lives dehumanized, since 1832, by demonizing propaganda — calibrated for a slow, painful bleeding and unlovely state of existence. The erasure of the metrics of merit, or the deletion of databases of the indigenous, has left a vacuum only to be filled with the meteoric rise of propagandistic materials. To suitably arouse public opinion for the butcher and to the detriment of the butchered, the colonial officialdom has created the first impressions through non-moral and non-science materials. Every impression has become a first impression in the absence of a proper introduction.
Demonizing Propaganda
The use of demonizing propaganda by governments, to protray opponents as barbarians, is a well-established practice and the colonial, demonizing propaganda, however dated, was used so effectively all over again by the neocolonials:
Objective Views
"Naga insurgents never adopted terror tactics" — Gen F. A. Vyas of the Indian army.
"The Nagas do not kill civilians" — Murkot Ramuny, Security Commissioner.
"The tribal areas are defined as those long frontiers of India which are neither part of India nor Burma, nor of Indian states nor of any foreign power" — Jawaharlal Nehru, August 19, 1946.
"While the Kukis are monarchists, the Nagas are republicans, and their Peumahs, or chiefs, are elected... I never knew any one take more pains or more successfully not to hurt the susceptibilities of those they are talking to, indeed they [Nagas] show a tact and good feeling worthy of imitation” — James Jonestone.
