The Silent Witness from War to Peace

This Grand Mosque, which is created from a long journey history of Aceh. From the time of war is relentless, which lasted hundreds of years until now, has been lethal hundreds of thousands of Acehnese. Coupled with the tsunami that hit Aceh in 2004, has eliminated hundreds of thousands of lives. it's just that, the people who took refuge in the mosque that survived the disaster.

The people went up to the roof, and because of this mosque has no walls, only pillars, the large tsunami waves were not swept, only flow from inside the mosque. Pain and grief experienced by the people of Aceh have now been gone in the euphoria of peacefully.

This mosque too, had become a great witness in bringing Aceh into a better way. Even the Great General Johan Harmen Rudolf Köhler breathed his last in the hands of the people of Aceh, in front of the mosque, he sprawled lifeless in offensive war of his nation, the Netherlands. After his nation destroy this mosque, then later also the his nation's rebuilding Baiturrahman as a form of respect and to eliminate the anger of Aceh people.

Mosque in combination with past and modern ornaments, is being rebuilt in order to fit more pilgrims worship. This is a photograph that I taken from this side, a different beauty, I got it from this angle.Because usually, the photographer took a picture from the front page of this mosque.
