Construction of Hue Imperial City

King Gia Long started construction in 1805. There are more than 3 thousand soldiers and people mainly from the central provinces. They are from Quang Binh to Quy Nhon. They were gathered to work in Hue.

By 1832, the construction of the imperial city was completed. Emperor Minh Mang ordered to reward to everyone.

Nowadays, Hue Imperial City has many hidden mysteries haven't discovered. That is information about King Minh Mang built a huge gold tunnel in there.

Department of Administration was the agency that manages 7 warehouses with 7 different types of objects. In there gold and silver were the most important. Each warehouse had 12 captains keeping very confidential.

In the winter of 1988. there was an old man in Ho Chi Minh City who worked in Hue. He listened to the son of an old man talking about the gold warehouse in the grave.

The Forbidden City wall is over 3 meters high which has made it completely isolated from the outside world. However, the eunuchs, the guard, the chef could go out, but imperial maid couldn’t, they must stay inside The Forbidden City to the end of their lives.

Since the recruitment imperial maids were not allowed to meet relatives or parents. There were exceptions when the King allow to meet parents. But only the mother could talk to her through a cover. Only hear the voice without seeing each other. And the father stood outside the yard.
