A glimpse into the past. [Berlin 1945] This made me feel like I seen another world. "Who needs a time machine."
Another World:
I came across this old footage from Berlin in 1945, this was after what they call "The Fall of Berlin". Their city is in ruins, and the people are working with what they have to rebuild and repair. To live in a time and place like this is a really hard thing to wrap your mind around; coming from such a convenient\safe modern time.
There is an aerial view, that really shows the extent of the damage the war caused. As this photographer pans around, showing all of the destruction, I can't help but to imagine the battle that took place there. Imagine being caught up in that. Being apart of it. That's your current reality.
This footage captivated me. It's strange being able to look back into a time that you didn't exist in. Especially when it's remastered in high definition and color. This footage gave me a strong feeling of, "these are different people than we are." Almost as if we have evolved into a different species than them. This is probably the closest thing to a "time machine" you can get.
I guess the reason for this post was, to provoke thoughts, and hopefully bring forth some gratitude that you weren't born in such a hectic time like this.
Enjoy this glimpse into the past.

I for one am grateful I wasn't born in that time period. Life expectancy then was really low, human rights was almost none existent, the divide between the rich and the poor was great. War should never be an option.
What are you talking about? People lived the same as now. It was just the birth that killed many. Human rights non existent? Haha you are crazy. The 1950s was the Peak of Western Civilization.
Greetings @phoneif. The time period i was talking about was from 1945 and the preceeding years.Mankind recorded its worst moment during this time
1.World War 2 was still ongoing.
2.Nuclear Atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
3.President Franklin D Roosevelt was assassinated
4.there were many Jews in Nazi concentration camp
5.Great depression started in the US and engulfed the whole world was around this time period also, many countries economies did not recover from it until many years later
The peace and calm we enjoy now can not be compared to that time.I don't think any person would let even their worst enemies suffer through the nightmare. Have an awesome day @phoneif.

War is never good. We have history to learn from, but it seems man prefers to repeat his mistakes
A great historic document
