The story of one chapel

in #history8 years ago (edited)

Chapel as telling local residents, has been put on the spot death of the Cossacks, who were killed by Polish insurgents in 1863 and were buried beside it. The cemetery is overgrown with trees and bushes, the graves littered with cobblestones.

The locals took care of the chapel for many years. Destroyed by time the chapel was completely restored in 1992 by the one family. The iconostasis damaged by vandals in the mid 90s. The chapel is always open.

Many people come to this chapel today. Legend exists that sincere prayer in the chapel helps childless women conceive.

It looks eerie and intriguing.

Previously it looked. Now it seems like an ordinary village chapel.
