Clarence Leo Fender was born in August 10th, 1909 in Anaheim California, U.S inside his parent's range in orange country. When he was 14 years old, his uncle built a radio from spare parts and the loud music this radio produced from it speakers impressed Leo, later repairing radios became his hobby.

After graduating from Fullerton union high school in 1928, he began his education at Fullerton junior college, Leo Fender studied accounting while continuing to repair radio as just a hobby. He never took any electronic lessons while in college.

Upon graduation he was employed as a delivery man and later bookkeeper, after some years, Fender changed serval jobs, before he finally got a job related to his discipline as an accountant for the California Highway Department and tire company. During same period, he married Mrs Esther Klosky in 1934. She died of cancer in 1979 and so Leo married a second wife. However none of his marriage produced a child.

Leo Fender lost his job as an accountant due to great depression and this led to the opening of his Radio and Recording shop in Fullerton, California. He neither drank or smoked and he was not much of a social person so it was fair to say that Leo Fender was a man of few words.

Gradually Leo became famous amongst the local bands because he was constructing and selling public address systems for their performances. Later Leo teamed up with Doc kauffman and they made the first Guitar. Kauffman played and produced lap steel guitars for a decade before meeting with Leo Fender. They both worked together and produced some couple of guitars. But Leo Fender still felt he could design his own steel guitar with amplifier line.

Leo Fender's guitar "Broadcaster" was then steadily improved over serval years to become a Telecaster until in 1950, Leo Fender made his first six string one pickup Fender guitar. Leo designs helped turn electric guitar which were not popular as at that time, it then dominated the Music Industry and all performing artists started using it. The ultimate goal of Leo Fender was to create an electric guitar which would have no feed-back and which will be easy to play.

Leo Fender never learnt to play the guitar, an instrument which he spent his entire life developing. He held a guitar each day at one of his arms trying to either make it or prefect it until he died in 1991, yet he never played it, while he lived, he developed the stratocaster model which became one of the world's selling guitars since it's invention.

It's really hard to imagine the life of someone like Leo Fender who completely transformed music but did not contribute any of his own musical inspiration. we see inventors as people who set to solve their own problems and at least bring something into the world that they personally plan to use, but this was not the case of Leo Fender.

Finally Leo fender created an instrument called electric guitar which changed and improved the music world a great deal. It changed the Music Industry by making music louder and heavier giving new ways for an artist to alter the sound of their music and creating the perfect environment for genres. Leo Fender never played what he invented but he started it.
