HF20: Should You Change the Times of Your Autovotes Now?

I started writing this as a quick advice post, then noticed I had one important question outstanding; so let me start with the question.

When HF20 is up and running and the first few posts reach reward payout, will those payouts be calculated under the existing HF19 rules in play when they were published, or under the new HF20 rules when they are paid out?

If it is the latter, then Steemians need to take a look at all their autovotes and possibly adjust them to fit the new algorithm.

This is important to those who upvote a post very early in the knowledge that the author is getting some of the voter's curation reward. This will no longer be the case and such author_curate_reward (as you may see on steemd) will instead be added to the general reward pool.

If you do not wish for this to happen, then move your autovote to 15 minutes or later. For example, if you currently upvote an author after 2 minutes, then consider moving the time to 17 minutes.

This is all predicated on the answer to my original question above.

If the rules of HF20 apply to all posts from the official launch date, then anything posted now will be paid out using the new rules.

If this is not the case, and HF19 rules apply to all existing posts and comments, then you may do nothing now except set a reminder to change your autovotes very near the HF20 launch time.

BTW, as of writing, 10 of the top 20 witnesses are running v20.1, so hoping for a glitch-free launch now :-)
