Social media vagabond, new here

in #hello7 years ago (edited)

Hello, Steemit!! Having been effectively suppressed, censored, and targeted into near nonexistence by Facerecognitionbook — under the altogether false pretense all independent journalists are Russian bots, tools of the Russian government, or fake news — I find myself here, albeit late to the game.

I've been a vociferous defender of free speech, expression, and most particularly, the press, for as long as I was cognizant those things interminably represent the first domino — the erosion or eradication of which indicates the onslaught of dangerous authoritarianism far down the path to some form of totalitarian, despotic rule.

Thus, in short, we're fairly fucked.

In dissecting what's actually taken place in re those freedoms over the last three years, I've discovered a wealth of things both significant in their moment or telling when contextualized properly in the downfall of U.S. empire, growing and just contempt for American military presence in every nation on the planet but nine, and in light of advanced bellicosity between the feckless Trump administration and North Korea, China, Iran, and of course (my putative employer) Russia — four nations incidentally named in the latest national threat assessment — and this, just after a dramatic and portentous transformation of the national Nuclear Posture Review.

Without writing the book I'm planning in a single post, it's apparent the quickening of the empire's demise will get ugly. Fast. Censorship isn't just the first sign, as it, too, will become unbearable — putting information at a premium and the ability to obtain accurate information, questionable.

Tools of the State seeking to suppress, oppress, and silence dissent from its proper place in the spotlight (here's looking at you, Facerecognitionbook) hardly seem the proper location for such valuable information. In fact, so horrendous has the struggle been with ghosted posts and thus income, I've had to adopt a nom de plume of late, Clive Murphy.

Nothing boils my blood quicker than control freaks with too much power, no scruples to speak of, and the money to enforce their views of how the world should be onto the backs and impressionable minds of the world — so, here I am. Fed up and ready to write without censoring myself, jumping through hoops, or any of the other madness normalized over the past half decade.

Thank you for reading, bringing me into the community, and following my work — now and over the past three years. I'm hoping the cohesiveness once so pervasive in the activist and indie media communities returns. And quickly.

Oh yea, I have upvoted you and followed you. Many blessings from @introbot & @bycoleman

Thank you!! This is quite helpful! I've been looking forward to evacuating that other place for some time. I already like this forum immensely.

They really are stupid, thinking those censored will disappear.
The more they ban the truth, the more people will really hear.
The fightback has started, daily more are starting to see.
The truth will win out in the end and it will set the people free.

Let's certainly hope so, while diligently working to ensure it. People seem quick to silence opposing viewpoints rather than challenge their own beliefs — arguably, the most dangerous thinking pertaining to the topic.

Glad to see you here! I hope this is a big part of the solution to those problems you mention there. I believe it will be.

Just a suggestion, this looks like an introduction post; you might want to try the tags #introduceyourself (<that's the big one) and/ or #introducemyself

Lots of people will find you from that first one in particular. Some of the really big players will possibly vote and re-steem you for it.

Thank you! I'm fumbling through this for sure and appreciate any assistance!

My pleasure. One of the nicest parts of Steemit is how helpful people tend to be. Your success is our success!

Found and followed ! Looking forward to more posts !!

Happy you're here, Claire. Resteeming.
