Piety
Pity is defined as a feeling of compassion or mercy that produces someone who suffers or suffers
with origin in the Latin word pietas, the concept of piety gives name to the virtue that provokes devotion in front of everything related to holy matters and is guided by the love that feels towards God, it is also about the virtue that is translates into actions driven by the love felt by others and compassion towards others.
Having said that, we understand from the Bible that piety is a gift, a virtue that makes people appreciate gratitude and praise to God.
Piety is the fruit of the true knowledge of God, holy life does not accommodate bad attitudes and seeks God in all circumstances.
There is a call from God for his people, a basic gift that the Christian has to practice and is the virtue of piety, the apostle Paul advised to exercise this virtue with great concern for the lack of it in the people of God, insisted on The importance of practicing it, then, this virtue brings eternal benefits, benefits that not only would have in the present, but also for eternity
Piety is one of the mysteries of God given to his children, it is a gift that comes only from Him that manifests itself in an intimate love towards others
A person who has many riches and does good deeds can do it for two reasons: for the appearance of piety because he has something to give, or because he really has contentment with what God gives him and feels pity for others.
¡We must be careful with mercy!
We have been called to exercise piety, an attitude of obedience to God in all the acts of our lives
The word mercy comes from a Greek word "Eusebeia" = It can be called "Devotion" Secular writers said that godliness is a correct attitude towards God and the things of God.
Piety then, are all those things that as Christians we can do to grow in our devotion to God.
Paul tells Timothy, "Do things that help develop your devotion to God, your reverence for God, your fear of God because those will bring you great rewards in this life and in the future life."
Exercising in piety means that we must work our spiritual muscle in order to have a greater devotion to God. But we must develop them like those who train in a gym.
Piety belongs to the virtue of Religion, which the concordant judgment of theologians put among the moral virtues, as a part of the cardinal virtue Justice, since by it one tenders to God what is due to him.
piety is a fault line because it is so important in our lives. If it didn’t matter to us, differences in expressions of faith would not result in conflict.
