CHAOS cook KusaTsuri *5: How to impress a birthday person?!

in #healthybreakfast7 years ago (edited)

I promise you, you won't even recognize that they are vegan!

Here comes the recipe!

IMG_1519.JPG

You will need quite a few things:

  • 100 g vegan dark chocolate (70%)
  • 150 g nuts of your choice (I choose almonds)
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 125 ml canola oil/olive oil
  • 125 g agave syrup/maple syrup
  • 270 g wheat flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 150 ml almond milk/rice milk/oat milk
  • 100 g white (vegan) chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Let's start!

First of all you have to shred the whole dark chocolate in to little pieces. Afterwards chop the nuts in a mixer.

chopped almonds

Now to the mixing part!

Take the sugar, the cinnamon and the cocoa powder and mix it. Afterwards add some canola oil and agave syrup and mix everything. From now on you will need some strong arms ^^ Add to the mass the baking powder and a little wheat flour. Start mixing it and one by one add more flour and milk to eat until you consumed all of it and the mixture is a smooth, homogenous dough. Too finish it up add the chocolate graters and the almonds (nuts).

Now it will get a bit sticky

Try to distribute the dough consistently over your baking plate. The baking plate should have some baking paper!

something like this

Nearly finished!

While putting the dough inside your oven at a temperature of 180°C for about 20-30 minutes we can start preparing the icing. Just take your white chocolate and the coconut oil and mix it in a deep plate which is heated by boiled hot water.

When the brownies are ready pull them out of the oven and let them cool down a bit. Then you can pour the white icing over in a pattern you like 😉

Some tips and suggestions:

  1. If you like really sweet stuff i suggest to use more agave syrup or sugar because I always try to use less of it and I already cut it down in the recipe!
  2. I used much more milk then wrote down but just to be on the safe side I wrote less down. You always can add some 😉
  3. If you don't really like the coconut taste in your chocolate use less coconut oil for your icing

The only thing left is to wish you a Bon Appétit!!! And...

Thank you again!

I'm glad to hear that, I just nominated you. I hope you will get in.

Btw, I freaking love brownies, I had no idea there are vegan ones too. :D

Thank you for the nomination again ;) Didn't expected that at all so it was a great surprise when I saw my replies!!!

Really? Me too and I was really excited to try them out! And I have to say it surprised me how good they tasted!

Yup, it's one of my favorites deserts but not for long, I'm dropping out of sugar for a while, I'll post about it on Steem soon. Maybe brownies without sugar but I don't know how they would taste so I'll just pick fruits. :D

Really :O Well from the healthy point of view this is great but otherwise it is really hard these days to eat food without sugar. It is nearly in every industrial made product!
Waiting for this post! Remember me if you have written it so I can read it please :D
Have you tried out stevia as a sugar replacement. I read some stuff about it and it should be healthier but I am not so sure of that.I maybe have to do some more research on this ;)

I know, but at least, I will cut loose the sweets and things I know have sugar for sure. I will check out Stevia, you're the second person telling me about it within the last couple of days, lol.

I'll make an update on this post sometime next week; it should be great. You'll see what I mean, haha. :))

Oh I saw just now that you already have written your post about sugar ^^ Heading to your blog and reading it :D

Das sieht ja mal lecker aus!!!! MMHHHh ich will das Essen! :-)

Wow, it looks yummy, wish I could taste it too!

Thank you! Try it out :D It will be worth it ;)
