2 recipes of detox water

in #healthy6 years ago

Hello guys,

Today I just want to talk to you about a trendy drink that is everywhere on the Internet: the detox water. Everyone can realize it quite easily: it is just an infusion of fruits, tea, or spices in water. This mixture is supposed to bring you a lot of benefits: cleanse your system, bring you a lot of vitamins, wake you up,... I don't know about the benefits that a lot of people gives to it, but one thing is sure: it is a lot more tasteful than a simple drink of water! If you have difficulties to drink water, it may be the solution to your problem.

The term " detox " is not harmless. The detox indicates a metabolic reaction within the body, which finds essentially its place at the level of the liver. The detox would consist of eliminating toxin which slows down the functioning of the latter. And supposedly to eliminate fats which accumulate in the body when the liver is in slow motion.

Filled with fruits, the detox water would seem to be the best to this end. By soaking, fruits release vitamins and antioxidants, which participate in the detox of the liver. But, watch out, all the fruits have no same effect. There are some fruits that are richer in antioxidants and in vitamins, which are going to stimulate the reaction, like lemons, limes, red berries, watermelons,... But mixtures are infinite and depend on your tastes and desires!

I propose you 3 recipes that are really easy to do and the benefits that they are supposed to bring to you. I hope you'll enjoy it!

#1 Hydration, digestion and appetite control

The best of the detox fruits is the lemon! It brings you a lot of vitamin C and encourages the elimination of toxins linked to the consumption of alcohol and of fats, so personally, I put it in all my detox waters.
You need:

  • 1L of plain water
  • 1 lime
  • 1cm of ginger
  • 1 cucumber
  • 15 leaves of fresh mint

And the preparation is quite easily:

  • Choose your packaging: a mason jar, an infusion bottle, or a simple bottle
  • Wash fruits and vegetables
  • Cut the lemon and the cucumber into slices by keeping the skin.
  • Put down in the packaging
  • Add it the worn ginger and the mint leaves
  • Pour the liter of water
  • Let infuse 1 hour, or all night if you want a full taste
  • Serve freshly!

#2 Fat-burning, digestion and headache

Green tea is very good for fat-burning and for giving you a boost of energy. It helps you flushing excess water weight, minimizing your middle. Lime helps you neutralize free radicals and mopping up the damages caused by pollution, smoking, stress and unhealthy food and beverage choices. Mint eases indigestion and calms the stomach, possibly by improving the flow of bile through the stomach.

You need:
1 bag green tea
8 ounces of water
1/2 small lime, juiced
2-3 mint leaves

And the preparation is once again quite simple:

  1. Prepare green tea: you can make it hot if you have no time or cold if you have the night. For hot, you just have to prepare a normal tea and let it cool. For cold, you have to make your tea infuse during a long time, like 5 hours in cold water.

  2. Juice 1/2 of a small lime in a small dish.

  3. Add the mint leaves to the lime juice and press them slightly to release their oils.

  4. Pour tea over ice, add lime/mint juice. You can include the leaves or leave them out!

There are of course a lot of other combinations, some greedier than the others: watermelon/basil, kiwi/strawberry,... And the preparation is always the same: once your fruits were selected, the constitution of the mixture is easy: take a jar, put it some filtered water, fruits (or vegetables), add it if you wish plants, herbs, and even bays.

You have to keep it in the refrigerator. From small half an hour, the water begins to have a light taste of fruits. For a maximal taste, let infuse one night into the refrigerator.

Watch out, the beverage keeps maximum 24 hours at cool. To note that once the consummate water, you can always get back fruits (and vegetables) and consume them another way.

I use just cucumber and water. I'll try this too. Thanks for the information

I'm really grateful for this post @jarendesta.
Sometimes when I come back from work, after a very long and stressful day. I reach for a chilled glass of water, but sometimes I just feel water doesn't do the trick. With this new 'detox water'recipe you've given above, I think i've gotten the answer to what i've always wanted.
Thank You

this is awesome :) if you want to take it in a shot form, turmeric is a great addition too - helps with digestion / inflammation and has cancer-fighting properties
