RE: What is the best health insurance for "self employed Steemit bloggers"?

in #healthcare7 years ago

Why can't the USA Govrnment just pay for everyones healthcare, spend a fuck load less on war weapons and give its citizens free healthcare like many other countries do. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK can we add to the list anyone. How TF are people expected to find $1000 a month for healthcare insurance....it's a big money grab by big pharma and insurance corporations. WTF is medicine so epensive in the USA.

Sort:

Because the US citizens don't want to pay for bad habits of people who don't care about their health? Also because the culture in the US is more of a "you're on your own" and a "do it yourself" type culture. It's not like it is in Europe or Asia or Africa.

As far as $1000 a month, I don't see health insurance cost that much. Closer to $500 a month really and that is for the Gold metal premium coverage. $1000 a month is higher than I've ever seen anywhere but I would assume if you're older and sicker your premiums may be higher as it makes sense.

So at $1000 a month you are looking at $12,000 a year. In general Obamacare offers subsidies but there are a lot of onerous requirements associated with those subsidies which make it less than attractive but if a person requires it to live then that is the best option.
