AMERICA IN TRANSITION Pt. 4

Obamacare is the Insurance Company Relief Act not the Affordable Care Act.

Since Reagan, we have become a nation of addicts addicted to spreading the wealth of the middle class

but not the wealth of the ultra-rich due to their special interest prowess. At this point If we end the loathsome entitlement subsidies for food, housing and health care in order to lower taxes. We will kill the nation itself.

Today, I became a supporter of expanded Medicaid in the U.S. Without means testing. Today, is the day I realized that there is no going back to health care costs that I can afford to pay out of pocket like my father did. Sadness comes because I know the system has been stacked against us. Like the system confronting the people of Boston just before the Tea Party... Just before the revolution. There is no place to go though.

The 1% has the middle class surrounded by the entitlement addicts and the 435 people in charge of defending my freedom can't hear me.

Now is the time to Vote to expand Medicare! To Vote to END Obamacare and replace it for an Expanded Medicare system but which can only be used exclusively at public hospitals and clinics.

Vote for higher taxes on the wealthy like it was 1954 again but with smart deductions targeted at job growth! Smart Deductons: https://steemit.com/economics/@adconner/the-velocity-of-money

There is no way in hell to end the entitlements. We have to go full bore into Expanded Medicare for health care to cover the 20 million sick and needy patients, but we need to do it smartly.

We have to cutout the middlemen taking our premiums for his profits because the actuarial tables have been skewed in their favor.

We CAN fund an Expanded Medicare System and keep the private system with all the choices we love to have. To create competition between the public and private systems.

Here are some of my suggestions on taxation and healthcare.

  1. End Income taxation on individuals below 5 times the median income for single filers and 10 times for Married. Then institute a tiered system from 30% to a max of 70% with those smart deductions I already mentioned. All corporate income taxes should start at 50% minimum regardless of amount of income but provide deductions for reinvestment in corporate infrastructure that results in expansion of jobs or retooling for technical upgrades or technical research.

  2. Institute a national value added tax of 7%. This tax must exempt raw food and medicine.

  3. Institute a 25% National Luxury Tax on all purchases above 5,000,000 dollars or 100 times the median National Income whichever is less. I.e. Boats, Planes, Cars, Art, etc. But exempt real estate from this tax as well as from capital gains taxes, but institute a 6% federal doc stamp tax on all real estate transactions to help fund the Expanded Medicare for the 20 million entitlement addicts who cause our premiums to increase every year.

  4. Repeal Obamacare and open up Medicaid to the uninsurable to include dental and optical but double the payroll deduction for Medicare, from everyone. This will cover the expansion and will even cover the unemployed and children. THIS IS IMPORTANT, however, Expanded Medicare should be restricted to public hospitals and clinics. Payroll deductions and doc stamps has to fund it at 100% or zero sum. So the percentages may need to be adjusted. Caveat! Medicare must be restricted and invalid at privately held hospitals, clinics or doctors. All Medicare and Medicaid funded care is only through government operated (county) hospitals or clinics.

  5. The law should require each county to employ 1 doctor per 500 residents, and 1 nurse per 250 residents a minimum of 40 hours per week, and have a minimum of 1 hospital bed for every 1750 residents; made up of specializations as determined by each county's board of health.

  6. Each procedure paid for by Medicare must be capped at a zero profit to prevent privatization of county hospitals. This will put some real pressure on private insurers and hospitals to lower their fees and create competition with Medicare. The restriction of Medicare patients to only receive services at government owned hospitals is the incentive for the private hospitals to compete to provide better services than is provided in the public system at a really reasonable cost. (This will also end uninsured costs to private hospitals and put pressure on public hospitals to provide decent care.)

  7. Institute Tort reform for Mal-practice to cap Liability at 5 times the regular fees for all services related to the event where the mal practice occurred or $100,000 whichever is less except in cases of gross negligence resulting in death or quadriplegic paralysis and/or injury requiring external life support for life covered at estimated cost of future support services related to the event extended to costs caused by the support itself. Public hospitals, clinics and public employees would be exempt from liability in accordance with state statutes covering all public employees and government agencies based on qualified immunity for public employees.

  8. Require Counties to institute a 6% doc stamp fee but not Tax the profits or capital gains of the real estate sale.

Sort:

I don't think the government Ron medical system will solve the problem it seems like definition of insanity repeat the same thing all over again and accept different result I think he needs to be completely a radical change like a free market unfortunately we are really really in a deep trouble financially due to mismanagement of government programs and I think system needs to be dissolved due to lack of funds and management I don't think the system as is would be possible to fixed
You cannot care the addict the addict needs to willing to change due to enormous pain I'm referring this to the system Financial system medical system governmental system the attic needs to died or give up

complete control I don't believe taxation I will fix the problem taxation is deeply immoral Behavior

Taxation in a republic is the definition of civilization @marina8 thank you for a perfect Segway into Taxation!!!

Healthcare is one of my major concern. I believe more in taking care of yourself by reducing stress in your life, eating nutritiously, taking vitamins and not letting doctors give you prescriptions everytime you visit their office.

If everyone were like you we wouldn't have 25 Million Uninsurable people in America? I've been healthy my whole life. Perfect colesterol, blood pressure, weight, muscle tone, BMI, worked out every other day.... but two years ago I developed a blood clot in my calf and broke apart and shot clots to my lungs almost killing me. It's was diagnosed as idiopathic having no discernible cause. After a year on blood thinners I've got no lasting symptoms BUT Now I have a preexisting condition and basically uninsurable for the future. I'm okay now and earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid and too young for Medicare and too poor to pay for a life time of blood thinners because the pharm industry is too greedy..... What should I do in case of another clot that goes to my lungs again.? Die because I can't afford insurance or too poor to pay cash for my meds?

Maybe you should start working on finding a resource for the blood thinners. Hopefully, you will never need them again, but it's better to be prepared in case you do. I would say try and get a medical policy that will exclude your pre-existing condition, but will cover you for everything else. Maybe you can get affordable blood thinners by being pro-active with your needs. Yes, the big pharm are hurting America big time. Thanks for relying back. I am following you.

I would agree with you but since the HMO was created in the 70's it's been driving up costs due to removing personal accountability from the equation, so they've kept increasing the co-payments year after year to discourage people from using services frivolously.

So under Obamacare they invented deductibles for major medical. But it's all a scam. I'd rather end all Health Maintenance Organizations and make everything paid out of pocket except for insurable major medical, but we've passed the points of no return.

The middle class is surrounded by 20 million entitlement addicts skewing the health insurance actuarial tables for health care. They need to be kicked off the insurance because it's not insurance if you PLAN to use it.

But the elite have designed it this way. Rand Paul has shown everyone that what we have and what the republicans are designing is a farce.

The special interests are pushing to keep the status quo; to keep the gravy train rolling wheel barrels of cash to the insurance companies watching them keep two sets of accounting books.

Expanding Medicaid without means testing and increasing payroll taxes to pay for it along with earmarking local taxes for it... is the most pragmatic approach from an economic POV... at this point in history; after all the damage HMO's have caused.

WOW! What an eye opener for me. Thanks!

You present some interesting options. Have you learned about the CAFR report? Where I live the school district is claiming they are BROKE and are closing schools and have recruited citizens to pain and remodel schools this summer. It is a crime because when I investigated the CAFR report and looked hard at the monies the school district is come to hundreds of millions of dollars. Meanwhile they are raising our taxes because they claim poor mouth. Stealing our money to put away for the extreme rich.

I will be interested to hear what you thing after you have looked into the CAFR reports. You seem to have a good sense of dollars.

The difference between the budget and actual public holdings is usually listed under their reserves in the CAFR and in the budget. Every corporation public and private make a budget for maintainance or increase or withdraw from their reserves to fund Budget Items. There is also a little known column for asset replacement that they can adjust the replacement time schedule and "find" money to fund emergency repairs. But school districts usually have a CAFR separate from the "County" or "City" CAFR.

That's where you need to look for the schedule to paint its assets. Every asset should have a replacement and time frame in the reserves budget.

WOW!!!!
You understand this far more than I could that's for sure.
I look as the $$$$$ and see money that could be used instead of raising already high taxes I am going to follow you hopefully I will learn some along the way.
100% upvote for you!!

Thanks for the compliment. I use to work for a County government and was a Vice President for an Engineering Company for 7 years before getting fed up with corporate life. Sipping Margaritas on the beach is my hobby now. Lol.

THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!!! I used to work in healthcare, saving the person who walked into the office early in the morning saying they had chest pain for an hour. Now I play in my garden and try to keep my financial head above water because my city is going under. Sip a Margarita for me because the budget is stretched here. lol.

It's going under because the people's voices have been diluted.

As population levels increase the boards don't add more seats or representatives and as a result we the people individually do not matter anymore. Our influence gets diluted. Check out my post on this very subject:
