Is a Month in Thailand Good Medicine?
Is a Month in Thailand Good Medicine?
Well that certainly depends on where you're coming from doesn't it? Before arriving in Thailand I spent about three month's traveling through Central America finishing off with two weeks in Mexico, then I spent five weeks in the United States. These two countries Mexico and the US, lead the world in obesity and diabetes; and are famous for the SAD diet (Standard American Diet).
I've now been in Thailand for a month. I went from eating McDonald's to Tum Yum Soup, big plates of pasta at expensive restaurants to fresh caught red-snapper on the beach, ice-cream by the pint to an occasional 12oz fruit shake. I've seen my energy and strength go up, and have even seen my six pack starting to show through again.
While in Latin America and the US, I felt inflammation in my body, I felt my asthma coming back, puffiness in my eyes, I felt my body under stress. After a month in Thailand eating only Thai food my asthma has gone away, my puffy eyes and inflammation is all but gone as well.
My spirit has risen. I feel the opposite of depressed. I'm happy to be alive! My body is full of vitamin D from all the natural sunlight I've been getting. I've been walking much more and have only spent about two hours all month in a motor vehicle and that was when I toured the Island of Koh Pha Ngan's beautiful beaches and waterfalls.
My body feels relaxed and rested. I've gotten a professional hour long Thai massage about every other day since I've been here. I've met interesting and inspirational people from around the world. I've gone swimming almost every day and have started doing yoga and other exercises again.
So is Thailand good medicine? I would say for most people reading this, absolutely! Next time your doctor tells you what's wrong with you and starts handing out prescriptions like it's candy to trick-o-treaters; maybe you should just consider going to Thailand for a month, then see how you feel.
See the incredible food I've been eating and how little it costs here!
I would say Thailand is great medicine ! Especially when you can still eat right and have an active happy time very inexpensively ! With massages on top of it all , how awesome is that !! Of course you definitely need to know the places to stay and eat well on a budget like anywhere else you go really ! Thanks for sharing all your information with us , its been fun! ✈✈✈✈
Hahahhaa!!!😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the nice comment and the cookie monster with veggies! lol Love how you go about things on here. Yes having travel knowledge makes all that I do possible. I know where the sweets spots are in the world, so keep an eye on my blog and you'll know them too!
Haha ! Your welcome ! Good night !👍😴😴😴
I think it depends wehere in Thailand you stay. Imagine 1 Month at Khao San Road. Probably not good medicine ;-)
But yes, i got you! If you stay in nature, relaxed environment and good food: Save medicine! :-)
Exactly....in the end it comes down to the choices you make. Ko Pha Ngan it's a party Island. I didn't party much. But I watched people eat pizza, hamburgers, and drink all day. So really it's up to you. But my main point is, cheap easy access to great food and a nice life stlye is key.
I feel like I eat pretty well in Belize. Almost no junk food here. Of course we do have a kitchen and don't eat quite so much rice or bread as the average Belizean.
That's really good. I think Belize is one of the nicest places in central America :) Food choices and lifestyle are so important, more now than ever! You're doing great!
I'm so glad to hear that. We've gotten some bad press lately, but I really love it too.
Glad you feel the same way :)
What I love about Thailand is that tasty fruits are there all the time! Especially when it's mango or mangosteen season 😍
Do people really eat at McDonald's all the time? I had to eat there in Philippines and can't say I liked it...
Me too. I love all the fresh food in this part of the world. Yes, those mangoes really are something. About McDonald's and the US, I'll admit I like the taste, but I know it's terrible, a quick google search said there's over 15,600 McDonald's in my USA. So yes people do eat there all the time. USA is the country of convenience, Mcdonald's makes it cheap and convenient.
yeah, I ate there for about a month because it was cheap and easy to find, I get that 😅
