Loss of appetite which is medically referred to as anorexia, can be caused by a variety of conditions and diseases.

Some of these conditions can be temporary and reversible, Example loss of appetite from the effects of medications.

Some of the conditions can be more serious, Example causes from the effects of underlying cancer.

Any persisting lack of appetite should be evaluated by a health-care professional.

However, When loss of appetite is the leading cause of poor nutrition for ones struggling with some serious diseases, nutrient supplementation may be highly required.

But If stress, depression, pains or some other emotional issues are the causes loss of appetite, one should first manage the root cause.

°But Generally, stresses may be remedied by adequate relaxation techniques like massage, by exercise, etc.

°If a one's body is accustomed to under feeding due to loss of appetite or other factors, it must first regain the physical and emotional desire for food.

By trying to eat close to the same time on daily basis, hunger will definitely reoccur, that's just natural.
Even small amount of foods consumed at appropriate times may be beneficial, if dodging food became a habit.

Too much taking of Fluid is not advisable which trying to restore a loss appetite, as fluid intake can fill one up, thus reducing one's appetite for solid meal.
However, to prevent this from happening, fluids can be limited during and between meals.

Hydration is important, so fluids should not be totally omitted.

But If someone has difficulty taking solid food, fluids should be restricted to nutritious, calorie-dense fluids, Example vitamin-fortified protein shakes, oatmeal, and cream-based soups, etc.

Also very importantly is an eating environment. A pleasant environment for eating can improve ones appetite and eating habits.

One's dining details may include some lit candles, soft music and decorated in one's favorite colour scheme and there should be no television or radio, very very important.

MEDICAL REMEDY:

Medications like megestrol, brand name Megace, and dronabinol, brand name Marinol, may be prescribed to help in stimulating one's appetite.

Appetite-stimulating medications some times come with various side effects and benefits, thus, should only be used as directed and prescribed by a qualified doctor.
