Doctor confirms there is no reason to worry, despite dilated pupil

There has been a fair amount of family concern building around our discovery two days ago that one of Luna's pupils is always more dilated than the other. Photos confirmed it has been there since birth and today an eye specialist confirmed he could find nothing which indicates a neurological disorder.

This is what she looked like one year ago:

A second specialist will examine her in two weeks and will either give us the all clear or recommend further tests, most likely an MRI brain scan.

I am no expert yet I have been feeling sure from the moment I spotted it that what we are looking at here is nothing to be afraid of.

This condition (also known as Anisocoria) usually happens later in life after some kind of trauma (emotional or physical) or as the result of a life threatening condition in the brain.

It is not uncommon for people to have mild symptoms (a difference of less than 1mm) but this is not the case for Luna. In brighter light, the difference is clearly more than 1mm.

I choose to believe she has been born with the ability to see the world a little different to us and it is my job as a parent to figure out how best to assist her with the development of this ability.

In conclusion

I doubt any doctor will ever be able to tell us the cause of this, but that's okay. I never expected to have 'normal' children.

Esteban was born with a prominent V shape on his forehead as you can see here.

It still shows today in times of heightened energy when he is happy or sad.

Am still figuring out exactly what this means but feel pretty sure he has a heightened energy in his 3rd eye chakra. Which should mean heightened psychic abilities.

As for Luna, it will be a few years yet before I can establish the answer to her vision question but until then I will be researching and devising various eye tests with the intention of discovering her super power!

Unless of course it turns out she is simply a reincarnation of David Bowie.
