Hope for Type 1 Diabetes
Unlike type 2, type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder, with no known cause. It does not seem to be lifestyle related as with type 2. When you have type 1 diabetes , your pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. This means you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, administer insulin, and carefully balance these insulin doses with your eating and activity just to stay alive.
Millions face this illness every day . The disease ruins your cardiovascular and renal systems. The drug that are commonly prescribed, like metformin, may encourage the onset of dementia. Diabetes is very invasive and destructive to the body; even after treatment and medications your body is still struggling to regulate the spiking/dropping of blood sugar levels all the time. It's a very long process.
There are quite a number of stories online of people who were able to cure their type 2 diabetes with a very carefully planned and regulated diet. ALL unhealthy fats and sugars have to be cut out. This can be difficult and expensive, as it rules out most processed foods and requires careful meal planning and preparation.
This past year, a study was released showing that cycles of a fasting-mimicking diet can regenerate pancreatic cells and restore insulin in type 1 patients. This diet seems to reverse both diabetes types in mice. The diet consists of four day cycles of low-calories, low-proteins, low-carbohydrates and high-fats. Previously, stem cell therapy was the only known method to regenerate insulin-secreting pancreatic cells.
Squats always help.

Very interesting. I've heard a lot of good things about fasting regarding stem cell production. I heard that intermittent fasting produces stem cells in the immune system. I havent done any research to verify that though

I hadn't heard that, but very good to know. thanks!
I think it makes sense that diet can be used to control diabetes. It's kind of like diet is the cause and the cure to the disorder.
