Lost A Few Pounds! Getting In Shape #2
Getting In Shape #2
I'm pleased to report that my scale says I've lost a few pounds which is good. I woke up today to 223.8 on my scale.
When I started a few days I was 227 lbs. So that's a loss of 3.2 lbs so far. Granted most of this is just water weight but I definitely have been eating at a caloric deficit this week.
I just realized I didn't really cover how I would achieve my fitness goals in my last post so I'm going to cover the steps I'll be taking to hit them.
My Plan
Step 1: Track all calories using an app called MyFitnessPal. History has shown that if I don't track my calories, I usually go off the deep end eating wise. So my first priority is to track everything so I stay aware of my caloric intake.
Step 2: According to various online calculators, my total daily energy expenditure in calories is around 3000. This means that as long as my daily caloric average is less than 3000, I should lose weight. During the week, I'm usually able to be under that amount no problem. But weekends can be difficult due to eating out and drinking with friends. My plan to counter this is to plan ahead and allocate calories in advance for drinking.
Step 3: Get back into my routine of working out at least 3 times week. Over the holidays and even the past few weeks, I've been pretty lazy with my gym routine. I've barely been making it once a week. I want to get back to 2 - 3 times per week at minimum. Luckily for me, as the weather warms up, my motivation to do this usually goes way up. Cold weather kills me 😬
Conclusion
It's been a good start to my fitness journey so far. Down a few pounds and almost back into the 210's. I plan to go running weekend because the weather is supposed to be much nicer.
