Menstruation is the worst and painful part for every woman. During this period,a woman can get depressed,frustrated and be more vulnerable.

At this stage,they wouldn't want to do things that will complicate issues or affect them in any way. This period can last in women for 3-5 days and at this stage,we need to be very careful not to jeopardize the situation.

Although,it is not easy,but there are many things you can do that will reduce the pain.

Here are Nine (9) habits you must avoid during your period.

1 Never wear the same pad for the whole day

Wearing the same pad for a very long time can cause vaginal infections and bad odour in your private part. You will also not feel comfortable because your vaginal will be itching you at the same time. So,change your pad every 3-5 hours and you should be fine.

2 When you are already in pain,don't make it worse

This means that you should not plan any painful procedure while on your period,do not take anything that will cause pain to the one on ground.

3 Having unexpected sex

Having unexpected sex can increase the risk of infections,so it is best to stay away from sex for the main time you will finish your period. During sex,it will be more painful for you when you are being hit on bed.

4 Strenuous exercise

During your period,do not engage in exercises that are hard and stressful for you as it may cause another problem in your body.

5 Do not skip meals

When in your period,you would have lost so much energy and blood in your body,so you must take three square meals and some snacks in between to regain back your energy and blood.

6 Late night meals should be avoided

Yes,most women,due to their work,they eat late at night because they can't cook for that day. I would advise during this stage,you must at least take some snacks and water.

7 A good night sleep is very crucial

When having your period,the menstrual cramps can make it hard for you to fall asleep,but you should do everything you can at that time to relax and sleep.

At this situation,I make sure everywhere is silent for me to sleep on time to avoid pain throughout the night.

8 Diary products

They contain a lot of arachidonic acid which can increase the pain and cramps overnight,so you need to avoid them.

9 Stay away from movies that make you sad

Finally,you must not watch movie that are boring,sad and depressed or listening to depressing music. This will put you in a worst psychological state than when you already are and make your life harder.

I’m sure you mean well with your commentary, but the advice you share is not supported by medical or scientific facts.

Did you know that medical studies have found that exercise alleviates many of the pain and depression issues common with normal menstrual cycles? There is no reason, if you regularly engage in strenuous workouts or sports activities that you should curtail them at all. In fact, exercise releases endorphins and facilitates dopamine production, both of which alleviate symptoms associated with menstrual discomfort. It may be unwise to begin a NEW regimen, but for most girls and women, their regular exercise regimens are recommended and beneficial. Women Olympians or tennis phenoms like the Williams sisters don’t pause their strenuous workouts and practice schedules for their periods – in fact, Serena Williams won the Australia Open WHILE pregnant.

As for sex during menstruation – well, it’s a personal opinion, but GROSS. However, while I’m put off by the idea, the SCIENCE is that it actually may alleviate pain or discomfort for the woman, will not harm the penis, nor increase risks of infection if both partners are without infection to begin with.

Your other points are generally accepted great advice for everyday living for all people, both men and women, young and old – Eat sensibly, avoid snacking, and get enough rest. While all good advice, the admonishments are not specific to menstruation. Basically, for the vast majority of girls and women, our lives do not need to change for the week of menstruation.

For those unfortunate few who suffer deleteriously during menstruation, there may be a legitimate health issue and they should consult their nurse-practitioner or physician.
