Skin the Most Important organ of the Body

in #health5 years ago

Our Skin, the outer layer of our body which protects our whole body giving it the covering it needs and protecting us is sometimes the most ignored part of our body. The way we maintain our skin to a great extent determines the way we maintain our health. Carelessly we allow ourselves to be exposed to the outer environment not realizing the same is penetrating in is through our skin and giving us all the possible health problems and vice versa our internal health many a times reflect on our skin in form of rashes, dry skin, allergies.

Everything that gets into our body internally and externally impacts our Skin. Like the external use of cosmetic products on the skin if they are not good enough you will see a rash or allergies developed. Even the use of cosmetics which has Paraben in it will disrupt the hormone functions and there is a high risk of developing Breast cancer. Or if it has Triclosan it will impact the Thyroid hormones in the body.

Use of Hard water on the skin can also impact the Health. Children develop Eczema because of the use of Hard water even if it is for bathing. Everything that we use on our skin penetrates through the pores of our skin and spreads in different parts of the body and in turn giving us the results in various health issues. A person's health can also be determined from the health of the skin. We see when a person has insomnia, stress, anxiety issues they will develop dark circles below the eye area. So not only what we apply on our skin but also our lifestyle impacts our skin.

It is good to take care of the Skin in the most natural ways rather then going in for many cosmetics. It is better to keep it simple. If you need to put something then one should go for more of natural products rather then chemically loaded stuff. Sun is good for the skin but over exposure of Sun and not taking it at the right time can also create problems of skin cancer hence one needs to be mindful while doing Sun bathing.

Some tips that I can give from my practices are

  • Avoid washing face with soap multiple times in a day. Just water wash is enough. Honey and Lemon mixed together can work as a face wash and does a very good cleansing.
  • Apply coconut oil on the skin in place of fancy creams and moisturizers. It protects the skin from harmful bacteria and also helps reduce if any inflammation.
  • Get good amount of sleep
  • Exercise daily
  • Eat the right food and in right amount and drink good amount of water. Eating foods with antioxidants like the Berry family, leafy vegetables, nuts will help reduce inflammation in the body which causes wrinkles on the body and also slows down the ageing process
  • Avoid testing new products on your skin unless they are naturally made.
  • Avoid Smoking and too much consumption of alcohol
  • Regular Massage therapy- A right massage will not only help the skin look healthy but also improve the blood circulation in the body. Hence it is advisable to take a massage therapy on and off.

Besides these there are many natural therapies that can be used for skin care, like aloe vera gel use, or fruit pulp mask, regular massage therapies which will aid in keeping the skin healthy.

Another thing I believe is if one is ageing, one should accept it graciously and not go in for all the medical treatments like Botox to look young, cause they all come with their own side effects and long term effects on the health. None of these treatments are one time, once you start you need to keep doing it and maintaining it for life long hence once you do it you keep going in for it again and again creating more harm to the body. Rather if one takes a regular massage therapy it will give the same results and in the most healthiest manner. Ageing is a graceful process and one should enjoy that process gracefully.

A person's health can also be determined from the health of the skin. Like I mentioned before when a person has insomnia, stress, anxiety issues they will develop dark circles below the eye area. So not only what we apply on our skin but also our lifestyle impacts our skin. Our surroundings will also impact our skin, like the pollution and smoke emission will directly impact the skin and cause health issues. Most of the time when we talk about skin care it is only the face area that we focus on but our whole body is covered with skin hence it is very much important to pay attention to every product that you are using on your whole body and just on the face area.

We must not put manufactured commercially available lotions which might be good-smelling but they are full of chemicals which are harming our health @nainaztengra
It would be better to use natural products which we can sometimes make ourselves :D

My skin is important for me because it helps me eliminate extra body fluids and toxins. Unfortunately the rainy weather is not helping because the weather is fairer and it doesn't allow me to perspire. :?
