There are two positions; General Dentist and a Specialist. A specialist requires an additional 3 yr of study in a specific field.
There are certian courses, modules or diplomas which can give you an idea about some special procedures and may even be able to do some. But you can't be a specialist by merely doing a diploma or module.
A general Dentist can Perform many Dental Procedures but Orthodontia along with some special surgeries aren't ethically and legally done by General Dentist.
