What is Lymph?steemCreated with Sketch.

The primary function of the lymphatic system is to help rid the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials.

Lymph is a colorless fluid containing white blood cells, that both bathes the tissues and drains through the lymphatic system into the bloodstream as it is pumped to the heart.

As the body has no lymphatic pumps of it's own, the lymph is propelled through its system by action of the nearby skeletal muscles, the expansion and contraction of the lungs, and the contraction of the smooth muscle fibers in the walls of the lymphatic vessels. This requires your movements and activity to occur.

So what is the best way to cleanse the Lymphatic System?

Daily exercise, especially in fresh air especially in the mountains or by the water (ocean is better), as the concentration of negative ions in the air is beneficial as well.

Please see:  https://steemit.com/health/@kyusho/you-are-grounded

When you walk as an example, do it at a brisk pace so your legs provide a pumping action.  And keep in mind the upper half of the body also requires some assistance as well, so moving our arms as in power walking is just as important.  As a matter of fact the more swinging or action of your arms during your walk, the more the upper body will succeed in its lymph cleansing.

Don't be self conscious and worry what others may think when they see you walking or doing your exercise routines, that is just a fleeting thought in their head, but lasting benefits for your health.

Now many people still will be too self conscious to do power walking, so other exercises performed with full body action, vigorously, but not strenuously.  Deep breathing during the exercise (as in internal Martial Arts practice) is a vital link in the full cleansing process as well.

Proper breathing with the lower perennial muscles (Not the typically quoted belly or "Hara" as this is not the full potential).  The perineum breathing is essential to fully incorporate many systems, muscles, physiological function as well as strength maintenance.

And an extra benefit when doing these exercises are the release of endorphins which can accompany a vigorous walk or Kata session.  And once you experience this release, you will be less inclined to skip the experience and therefore live a healthier life.

By the way fro all of you that trusted enough to upvote... (even before verifying I was me).... thank you. I will continue to post on Kyusho (Vital Points) with Health, Wellness and Protection.

Great article! I especially enjoyed the reference to physical activity and daily exercise required for the cleansing of the lymphatic system. That statement reminded me how important physical movement is. It also initiated some thoughts within, triggering some personal reflection of past and present. Great information and motivation for a deeper personal study / reflection. Much appreciated, thank you.

Thanks @slynch people all know they should be moving, but few understand why and what is going on inside. If more knew, they would all be doing it.
