Health Foods | Naturally Occurring Sugar

Are added sugars the only ones we should be worried about? Or should we watch are intake of all sugars, such as naturally occurring sugar found in fruit.

The answer, no added sugars aren't the only sugar we need to watch. We do indeed need to watch how much fruit we eat on a daily basis and keeping track of what fruits contain more sugar can be helpful when trying to curb are sugar intake.

Although eating to much fruit is not nearly as harmful as eating to many sugar filled desserts. This is because when you consume fruit you are not only consuming fructose, but also fiber and lots of vitamins and minerals.

A good way of watching your sugar intake is using glycemic index or [GL] to help determine the appropriate amounts of natural sugars. There are so many health risks that come from sugar or rather to much of it, like diabetes for example.

My father learned this the hard way as he contracted diabetes about ten years ago and has since cut all sugar from his diet. Living with diabetes can be hell and he really regrets not controlling how much sugar he used to consume. He loved fruit and would drink orange juice daily. I'm not saying that just fruits alone are going to give you diabetes, but it's definitely something to take into consideration.

Everyday I am learning more about the consequences of not taking care of your health, like that old phrase "you are what you eat" if you are not giving your body and brain what they require then how do you expect to get all that you require.
