100% NATURAL, TOXIC CHEMICAL FREE, HEALTHY HAIR SPRAY That WORKS!!! DIY!

in #health7 years ago

Do you ever wonder what is used in the HAIRSPRAY products? Not too many people know what exactly is in our hair products these days. We don't even question it, since we don't think it can be actually bad for our hair or for our health.

This is why I decided to share with you the recipe for the hairspray that I have been using now for about a year, and I absolutely love it because it works great and it actually is improving my hair and my overall health.
But before I share with you the recipe and all the great benefits this hairspray has, let's talk a little about the bad things and side effects we get from using the hairsprays we buy at the stores.

So I checked what ingredients are used in our hairsprays and I was blown away by the toxic chemicals we use daily while not even knowing about it or paying any attention to it.

Some of the ingredients used in hairsprays or other hair products are also used in other products like:
Flammable Gas
Engine Lubricants
Propellant
Plastics
Furniture finishers
Paints
Fuel Gas

These are few toxic chemicals and plastics used in hairsprays:
Eugenol
Benzyl Salicylate
Synthetic Fillers
Petrochemical Plastic Polymers
Parabensparabens
Artificial Fragrances
Hydrocarbon Propellants
SD-Alcohol-40
Butane
Ether

Our bodies absorb all these toxins while using the hairspray, by inhaling it, by absorbing it through our skin and it gets down to your blood streem.

Side Effects of using chemical hairspray.

*Dryness of hair and skin
Thinning or hair
Hair loss
Skin damage
Allergic reaction or Hives
Skin irritation
Throat, nose and eye irritation
Eczema
Pneumonia
Can damage your organs like lungs and kidneys

Some of the ingredients are flammable and there have been accidents recorded for the hair catching on fire with no touch contact.
While spraying your hair, we end up inhaling these toxins which is harmful to our overall health. When you spray these chemicals over your hair, your skin ends up absorbing these toxins right into your bloodstream, which of course can't be really good for your health.

So this is one solution that I use and would like to share with you.

100% Natural, Toxic Chemical Free Hairspray RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 ounces glass or stainless steel fine mist spray bottle.
If you have a bigger size, then you can double the recipe.
  • 1 cup boiled water
  • 4 teaspoons of sugar
  • 2 drops of essential oils of your choice (mentioned above). You can use all the oils or just
just one or two, it's your choice. Ex. I used 2 drops each: peppermint, rosemary,
    lemongrass, lavender, and cedarwood.

Boil water, just enough to dissolve the sugar. Keep mixing until the sugar is all dissolved.
    Cool the water down.
Pour the water into your spray bottle.
Pour the drops of essential oils into the bottle.
Mix it and make sure you shake the hairspray bottle before each use.

This post is great! I’ve been wanting to ditch my hairspray for some time, just didn’t have an alternative. Thanks! 😄👍

Glad you liked it. I actually just finished my bottle of hairspray, so it's time to make a new one. I love having this alternative and try to stay away from any chemical sprays etc.
