RE: The FDA Just Approved PayPal Founder’s Project to Use Magic Mushrooms to Treat Depression
I am always suspicious when the "FDA approves...something" - it usually means that Big Pharma is about to take over and make something that we have been using for centuries into a patented "medicine" that only certain people have access to. Revenue - it's aaaalll about the $$
I was thinking the same thing. When has the FDA ever approved something that can be grown by anyone?
weed - hemp - but only so they can take it over.
I'm as on edge as you are about this. God and Goddess gave us these things to be used in a certain manner ... that is, naturally. I would understand science getting involved if there was a toxin or something in it that made it dangerous for humans to consume naturally, (for there are tons of substances like that; take the Daturas, for instance, I wouldn't touch them with a 1-foot pole, keeping my respectful distance from them grown in gardens), but other than that, what we put in our bodies and reasons for it are our decisions to make, not the government's. I have never encountered the mushroom experience, though I would much rather try mushrooms over LSD ... for the same reason. Mushrooms come from nature, whereas LSD is synthetic, hence can't teach us anything. If I try, I want to try in the way the higher powers intended for us to try, not based on some bullshit pharmaseudical.
I have taken shrooms - but I don't take any pharmaceuticals at all. Now, I just go for direct contact with the Spiritual realm without the use of anything.
Same here. I have no problem with that at all, after all, I think I was actually born for it. I'll be sharing some stories later on and some more posts, so follow me if you're interested. Of Adventures in my life on that side of things, it's been both fun and scary at the same time.

who pays for drugs themselves out of pocket?
I do not. but I don't use "drugs" at all so I don't know.
prescription drugs are so expensive because most of the people who use them don't even know what they cost and government subsidies create price floors.
you are right @funhobby51 - I remember one time I had an absessed tooth and my dentist gave me a perscription for an antibiotic. I went to walgreens to fill the perscription and tried to use my homedepot employee perscription discount card and they said it would be $400 - I called my dentist who sent me to walmart (I never go there) and I went without the discount card and it was $4 - WTF??? all I could guess was that it was the highway robbery of the ins co's that made that happen that way - and people's inattentiveness to the process has made this the fact today.
same with MRIs and all other medical care, I got an MRI not too long ago and they had sent me to the hospital to have it done but then my wife found out and I went to the MRI place a quarter mile from the hospital, the same MRI company and it was like $600 less. And they were all confused why I was even asking.
what the fuck - that is insane!!! gone are the days when we were fully self-supporting - and using ins co's has driven prices up to the point where ins co's have built a nest on the ground, i guess... wow.
that and a lot of people are on government insurance and they really don't give a shit what things cost. no provider would ever provide any service for less than whatever the government is willing to pay, it makes a price floor and kills competition even more.
right! we are being taken over from within the system - and most people do not care - are happy to be slaves.
