Vitamins

Vitamins are classified into two main categories which are fat soluble vitamin and water soluble vitamins. The fat soluble vitamins comprises of A, D, E and K while the water soluble vitamins are B1, B2 and C. Vitamins are widely distributed in various foods such as fruits, vegetables, liver, milk, butter, egg yolk etc
Vitamins plays very important roles in the body and it deficiency in our diet manifest in various diseases such as ricket, blood clotting failure, scurvy, night blindness and disorders of mucus membranes, bones, nerves.
Vitamins are very important in the formation of neurotransmitters, deoxyribonucleic acid,, hormones, blood cells etc. The also function in the body as antioxidants which helps in combating against free radicals that triggers cancerous cells.
