A Traumatic Experience I Will Never Forget
Hello everyone, I am sure some of my blog readers and students might have been wondering my little absent from Steemit. I received lots of messages from my loved ones asking about my "scarcity in post this days". I just wana make use of this moment to explain what really happened and I don't think I will type much because I haven't fully recovered from this trauma.
How It Started
I use to be that kind of person whom avoid taking so much sugar while drinking tea or coffee. I am actually afraid of it's adverse effect which makes me take a spoon or none. I also love to take cold drinks to feel relaxed during summer after undergoing strenuous activities. Sometimes, I do eat chewing gum or candy just to make me more active while I write articles in a cool and silent environment. I kept doing this for sometimes since i am addicted to it and I haven't suffered any form of medical problems or complaints because I believe it's just "a normal thing."
Feeling Something Strange
Sometimes if any delicious breakfast is ready, I don't sometimes brush with care and patience. I am always in a rush because I don't wana miss the delicious meal at the moment 😁. After enjoying my breakfast, I continue with my day to day activities.
After accomplishing the day mission, it was time to take my night shower and sleep peacefully. I noticed something strange while I was asleep. I felt strange pain around my cheek which is caused by the "action of my tongue towards the premolar". The pain wasn't severe so I was thinking it may be the effect of the meat I ate before sleeping. So I slept back peacefully 😁. I woke up that same morning to brush my teeth, then I felt an unbearable pain whenever I brush the premolar. I had to rinse my mouth as I couldn't stand the pain. I told my friends about it, they told me to go see the Dentist because they are only the ones who are professionally trained to treat the cause. I had the plan of meeting a dentist the next day, but guess what? I got relieved later that night. I wasn't feeling any pain around my premolar tooth unlike before, so I decided I don't need to meet any dentist because what's really the the need for meeting the dentist since my tooth is now okay and I don't feel any pain unlike before. I slept peacefully without no discomfort and I woke up comfortable. I was very happy that morning and I had so much fun that day.
Something worst might happen
For the past few weeks, everything was going smoothly as I was able to write on #ulog in courtesy of @surpassinggoogle and @steemgigs because I am also a Ulogger. I was also able to post some Mathematical Tutorials with the aim of sharing my Mathematical Knowledge and lot of people do learn from this. The past week was just so lovely and interesting. 3 days ago, I decided to read my Steemit feed and I came across a writing contest organised by one of my great mentor @crypto.piotr in support of @cotton.coin with a very cool rewards for winners. This wonderful contest is still on going for those who wish to take part, you can visit Cotton Coin Writing Contest. I decided to take part in the writing contest because I don't wana miss this great opportunity to promote the blockchain, learn more about the system and share my writing skills. I took my time to learn what the system was all about and I learnt alot while doing this. It is always good to be a voracious reader and writer because you will always learn something new. After gathering my write up for the contest, it was time to type on my faulty phone. I had no choice than to type on phone I am always hoping and I believe I will make more money from Steemit to buy a new phone or laptop. While I was typing my contest write up, my toothache developed drastically which made me very weak. I couldn't think straight like I use to do while typing, I wasn't comfortable, the pain was just too severe. I just had to type that day and the contest was the only post I published on my blog that day. I couldn't do any more typing about Mathematics or any free writing. I was just so weak. My friends recommended I make use of salt and warn water to keep fighting it. The Dentist place was also very far from where I was then. I had no choice than to keep battling with the pain. I felt severe headache, earache, I couldn't eat and I was dumbfounded. I slept very early hoping for the next day to come because I must find a a solution to my problem. It was time for me to travel, but I wasn't with enough cash. My parents had to help me with that and I travelled to meet with the Dentist.
Problem Solved
I met with the dentist yesterday and he asked me some questions related to my health. I told him how I was feeling and the pain I was battling with. He noticed my cheek is swelling, then he brought out his dental equipment to perform his operation. While his nurse was doing some arrangements, I was already getting scared because I have heard lot of people with different experiences telling me about how painful removing teeth was. The fear increased when he brought out an injection telling me I wana inject your gum, I was like are you for real?. He injected the infected part twice and he told me the cells are already dead. He verified that when he inserted injection in my gum again and I felt no pain, I was like this is cool 😊. Then he brought out a metallic substance which he inserted on the affected area, then he forcefully removed my premolar tooth which gave rise to the flowing of blood. He told me to close my mouth after setting the cotton wool in the right place. Mhen! The pain was just too much. I won't like to write more about this because I am always recalling the incident.
It caused me a very great amount of removing one tooth and I really know how financially affected I was. I hope when I am fully back, I will gain more of what I have spent because I believe Health is wealth
Learn From My Traumatic Experience
One of my purpose of writing about this is that I want everyone to learn from this. You can share if you want but just make sure you learn from this. Here are some tips you can learn from my traumatic experience
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE: I already noticed the symptoms earlier but I didn't take action. I kept on ignoring it hoping it will go for its self. I was just thinking it's a normal thing to happen. Please do not underestimate any health diagnosis no matter how small it seems to be. Always raise alarm and always complain to the health practitioners about your health. If I had prevented it earlier, it wouldn't have grown severely. Always remember prevention is better than cure.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR TEETH:Always brush your teeth carefully and properly. Do not be in haste due to the kind of delicious food you wana eat, always remember the food isn't going anywhere. You will surely eat your food because no one is gonna take your food. Sometimes I feel sympathy for some people who don't even bother to brush every morning before eating. This kind of attitude is bad. Take care of your tooth by brushing regularly.
WATCH WHAT YOU EAT:Always be mindful of what you consume. A scholar once said a" healthy person is always mindful of what he consumes". As you grow older, you tend to be more alert about your consumption of food because you will surely do things that promote your good health. If you are the type that loves candy, chewing gum, cold drinks, etc always try to be moderate and rinse your mouth with water after eating them. Don't eat unhealthy foods excessively. I recommend you always consume fruits and other healthy foods. Note: I am not saying you should quit the listed items but learn to eat them moderately (not too much) and always remember to rinse your mouth after eating them.
AVOID PROCRASTINATION: One of the major factor that affected me was my procrastination. I procrastinated to see the dentist which I didn't do not until it became severe. Do not procrastinate, always report health issues immediately.
HEALTH IS WEALTH:I never understood this saying not until I had that traumatic experience. Mhen! I was ready to sacrifice anything just to be in good health condition. Always take good care of your health because you won't even be bothered to power down your huge steem power and sell all your SBDs and Steem just to be in good condition. Always ensure you take care of your health because you won't spend your wealth when you are gone. Always remember "health is wealth" .
