A Short Story About Tripping On LSD With My Closest Friends & How It Has Impacted My Depression

in #health7 years ago (edited)

So we are getting ready for a 311 concert at my cousin's house. I ask my best man,

"Ay, Mike?"

Mike:
"Yeah?"

Me:
"What uhhhh... What exactly is LSD like?"

Mike:
"Oh Man...Pooooooooooooooooooooooof!"

"It feels like you are connected to everyone and every living thing in the cosmos for about 8 hours."

That was good enough for me!

On a Thursday in mid October, my closest friends and I sit around a table, we are in the kitchen and home of my cousin. The home is very warming and artsy. Dripping and draped with flowers and paintings. Just an all together good place to be. My cousin comes out of the back room with tin foil in his hands and an ominous look on his face. Chuckling as he comes closer. Like a football team we huddle together to hash out the details of our trip. I placed two square pieces of purple paper with pictures of Krishna on them onto my tongue. The purple squares contain lsd. Now the words to describe the rest of the night correctly do not exist, some of the details will be lost in translation most definitely but ill do my best. I sit with old friends chatting while waiting for the effects to kick in. The smell of sensi fills the air and excitement fills our souls. After about 30 minutes I got up to go to the bathroom. I finished up, washed my hands and looked into the mirror. My Trip had begun! It was a nice come up, not too fast just nice and pleasant. It did get pretty wild though. Imagine that there is a thread woven between and around the legs of everyone on the planet, it felt like bungee jumping off of the moon with that thread, suspended in a place where time and space meet. I could feel the soul of everyone I have ever encountered and and all of those that I have yet to meet. It was absolutely everything that I needed. My pineal gland was giving birth to my third eye and the trip wasn't going to quit until the job was done. An incredible sense of connectedness and love that I have never known. I have been in a serious depression for the last couple years and the day that I took acid that all changed. The effects lasted about three weeks, I was so happy that I honestly believed that my depression would not return. I was naive. However, the experience that I had allowed me to find spirituality that I had never known and the answers that I received that night have sparked a series of changes in my own life that will eventually help me solve this issue of depression. Depression is not a disease its a part of life. We all experience "depression" after life events like loosing a parent or loved one. Almost every one of us will experience this one day. What allows us to get better, is a better understanding of our self and the world around us. What drives us to gain that understanding is different for each of us but many times it is fueled by depression. The day we each understand our own purpose in life is the day we will slay our last demon. I honestly believe in my heart of hearts that we are all connected to each other on a far deeper level than we acknowledge or have had time to know and understand. LSD kinda allows you to feel those around you as well as the world in that dimension of connectedness and you take that with you after your trip. Lets face it all any of us want in life, is love in abundance. For me lsd was like receiving love in abundance. That was my case however. Every person and situation are different and set and setting should both be considered before taking any drug at all. Set being the head space that you are in. I have been forever changed by this drug and it is all for the better. That's my two and a half cents on lsd trips.

Wow man! That’s intense. I’ve never had the balls to take LSD but I’ve taken shrooms and that was awesome !
I love reading your stuff! Keep it up 😁

Thank you! That means a lot, I love your posts too! They always make me feel good no matter what kind of mood I'm in, your mind and mine are very alike! As far as the trip, mushrooms are one of my favs, I lived in Florida for a bit and I went picking often. Lsd from my experience, is more warming and calming than mushrooms though. They each have their own properties but acid was just a lot more warm and fussy than mushrooms. I've never had a bad shroom trip though.
