We are living in a day and age where individuals are not only prohibited from, but persecuted for using plants for relief and healing. Because of this injustice, we are more determined than ever to speak truth and share our success. That said, we want to introduce a series of posts to discuss the experiential, scientific, and economic data in support of medicinal cannabis use.

Cannabis is perhaps the most useful plant on Earth.
It can be used for food, clothing, shelter, and even as medicine, yet it remains restricted in the US as a Schedule I drug (a classification for drugs with no known medical benefits and potential for abuse), despite a long, healthy history of use around the world and constant growing scientific evidence for its efficacy as a medical treatment. 

This plant has been used for thousands of years. Many people use cannabis with great success, and scientific data confirms what people already know: studies demonstrate it is a successful remedy for everything from seizures to PTSD to cancer! The evidence is so overwhelming that even the US government acknowledges its anticancer effects. That it remains a Schedule I drug in face of this proof of medical benefit is ludicrous and criminal.

Further, we bear witness to the violent devastation that the suppression and criminalization of this incredible plant has created! 

• The government executed a costly Black Ops SWAT raid against our people and property under the false accusations that we were growing this plant. After 10 hours of trespassing, harassment, destroying crops, and stealing our sustainable building materials, the fully armed soldiers found nothing to substantiate their bogus claims.  
• Over 700,000 people were arrested in 2014 alone for marijuana "offenses". (Source)
• Not only that, but there are people upheaving and uprooting their lives to seek medical asylum as refugees in other states to escape threat of being kidnapped and thrown in a dungeon for using a natural treatment in their own homeland. Most of these are families searching for options to treat their sick children. We have friends affected by this issue, and we will share their stories.  

Obviously, it’s absurd that it’s illegal.  Not only is there experience, but there is also extensive scientific evidence to prove it! People's lives are being destroyed just for trying to get/use the natural medicine they need. So then the real question is WHY does cannabis remain illegal? We have many opinions on this controversial element which can be an extensive post in itself. 

We conclude that this is why a free market is so important. 
Not only is it obvious to anyone who supports freedom that an individual has the right to choose how best to take care of themselves, there is also a HUGE economic benefit and incentive for the people as a whole to allow this. Instead of black market, cartel and gang related profits we could have social profits that would not only allow people to get healthier on their own terms but also to grow economies as well.

Tax debate aside, states have it in their own best interest to legalize marijuana--just look at what Colorado is doing! Just on the first day of legalization on January 1, 2014, marijuana sales in Colorado topped $1 million (source), and state revenue in the form of marijuana taxes, licenses, and fees are up 45% from 2015 to 2016 (source). There are business opportunities for states and entrepreneurs by doing nothing but allowing people to choose for themselves a more healthy and natural life. 

Currently, 4 states and Washington, D.C. have legalized marijuana, and more have decriminalized possession of small amounts. It's a growing industry as marijuana laws shift.

Clearly, what works for one person may not work for everybody, but if there's medicine that can improve someone's quality of life, then obviously they should have access to choose it for personal use! It's outrageous that a government continues to stand in the way of anyone seeking wellness. 

Truth will not be stopped.
People are starting to reconnect; people are starting to re-remember, and we all have proof to this matter. We want to remind people of their options for health, and we know cannabis to be one of the best medicines for holistic health. We'll bring you more posts in this series to present experiential, scientific, and economic data in support of cannabis use and legalization to illuminate our way our way out of this repressive darkness.
