Candida Cleanse Week 4: pH Results

in #health7 years ago (edited)

Welcome to another week of cleansing and healing!

This is officially the 7th week since we started our anti-candida detox. Overall, everyone feels happier and healthier physically, mentally, and emotionally! Candida levels among our participants have greatly diminished; many of us are testing negative according to an easy & accessible spit test on multiple occasions, although no one has maintained a negative test with great consistency.

We originally intended to follow an anti-candida diet and protocol for only 3 weeks. Because we felt advances in health every single day but many of us still had traces of candida, we chose to extend that plan into a 4th and 5th week and continued to enjoy steady improvements. Everyone decided to take a break for the 6th week; we ate whatever we wanted and did not take 100% gum spirits of turpentine. This is now our 7th week of the anti-candida cleanse, and current participation is mixed - some are choosing to return to the diet & protocol, and others are not.

There are several data points we are recording to track our progress, and we continue to share our results here on the blockchain for the benefit of all. We can see what works, what doesn't, and hopefully inspire ourselves and others to continue embracing a life of thrival!

Although we are in the 7th week in real time, we have a bit of a lag in analyzing and reporting data.

Please take a moment to look over our most recent reports:

Today, we are reporting urine pH test results for week 4.

Data from week 4 has been the most interesting so far! As we reported in a recent post, we grew more relaxed with the diet, and these choices seem to be reflected in our twice daily urine pH measurements

The majority of our pH measurements fell within the 6.0 - 7.0 range, but we also recorded a bulk of the lowest pH readings since our first week on the cleanse.

Here is a comparison of week 1 vs week 4 results:

Our pH often measured mid-range of 6s up to 7.1, but we also saw results dip down into the mid 5 range again. We also had more tests come out in the 5 range than we did during all of week 1!

Check out our diet report for week 4 that shows we were much less strict about following the diet during ON and OFF days. While we agreed to stick to an anti-candida diet based on fresh, whole fruits & veggies that eliminates sugar, meat, dairy, and most grains for 4 days of the week, we took more liberties during our ON days in week 4 and indulged in many "restricted" types of food.

It doesn't seem to be a coincidence that our pH is dropping as our diet shifts back towards our pre-experiment norm.

We observe that drinking coffee has a pretty big impact on pH levels. A few Eden Knights noticed their pH levels dropped an entire point on days they drank coffee.

The comparison chart above shows coffee consumption also increased greatly during our ON diet days between weeks 1 and 4.

With this in mind, the next chart shows differences in overall pH on our ON diet days vs OFF diet days:

We know that other factors affect pH as well, thus we won't definitively conclude diet is the only culprit behind our pH fluctuations, but the data and our experience shows obvious correlation.

To wrap it up today's report, here is a chart of our pH levels over the last 4 weeks:

What trends do you observe?

We hope this will inspire you to do additional research and work towards the best possible health for yourself!
