While eating small to moderate amounts of Cassia Cinnamon is safe, eating too much may cause side effects. It contains high amounts of coumarin, which has been linked to conditions like liver damage and cancer.
Ceylon Cinnamon only has minute amount of coumarin and can be consumed in larger amounts more safely.
