I would suggest starting with cold showers first and leave out the head.

30 seconds are fine to start. For myself it feels way easier after I have done the breathing.

Beware dont do the breathing while in water.

There is a great documentary on youtube from vice about wim hof. Also some videos where he is guiding people through the breathing.
