Nutritional requirement for obese people

Obesity is as a result of consuming excess calories than the amount that is being utilized by the body. The main causes of obesity may be metabolic or genetic alternatiion. Metabolic involves the type of metabolism an individual posses which may be slow or fast metabolism, while genetic factor involves the inherited gene from past generation. Other factors are social, environmental and psychological factors which all contributes to storage of fats.

In considering the nutrient needs for obese patients the following should be considered.

More emphasis should be laid on weight reducing diets. Foods that contains fats, oil, and sugar should be avoided as they contribute to the storage of Triacylglycerol (TAG) in the adipose tissue. The consumption of fish should be encouraged instead of beef.

Consumption of foods with high amount of fibre should also be encouraged. As fibre helps in reducing the amount of glucose that is absorb into the bloodstream.

Also, the consumption of plant foods should also be encouraged. As plant foods contains less amount of calory content. Obese people should be placed on diet with food that are very low in calories but high in other nutrients. The lower the proportion of calories from fats, the lower the risk of obesity.

Patients with low metabolic rate should consume foods that are low in calories as well. They can also increase their water intake as this reduces the amount of calories absorb by the intestine.

It appears that GRAINS are not digested well by many people, so try avoiding those.
Eating fats is actually GOOD for you and your brain. It is important to eat GOOD FATS like avacado's, fish, olive oil, and coconut oil and nuts. Avoid eating any vegetable oils.

I went on a keto diet where I ate LOTS of fats, but nothing that turned to sugar (no starches) and lost a lot of weight even though I had no intention of losing weight. My intention was to get into ketosis and starve cancer because it is said that cancer can ONLY eat sugar, while the normal body cells can switch between sugar and Ketones.

People get obese because of any number of reasons, but it seems a lot has to do with what they are eating and how it is metabolized. The thyroid plays an important part in that. Probably the BIGGEST culprit for obesity is SUGAR (note that all starches will turn to sugar as it is digested). When the body has excess sugar, it stores that sugar as fat if it cannot excrete the sugar in the urine. This happens when your body cannot produce enough insulin to break down the sugars and burn it for energy (insulin resistance).

Calories are more or less irrelevant because if the body was functioning correctly, we wouldn't feel hungry and likely not eat unless we needed it. We eat so much because the body is being fed with GARBAGE food that it can't process and, not knowing what to do with it, turns it to stored fats. However, the body still needs energy to function, so it wants more food to get the nutrients it requires. MOST foods sold in North America lack many essential nutrients because of the way they are grown and or processed. Eliminate ALL pre-packaged foods (containing all manner of preservatives and other chemicals that harm the metabolic process), eat organic foods high in good fats and lots of organic vegetables and I think most people will see a change.
