I heard about microbiome about 10 years ago and I knew it was going to be a game changer in medical knowledge. There is so much to cover here that I am going to tackle it in pieces over time.

Nervous? Anxious? Butterflies in the stomach? Yes we feel our emotions in our body. It is all connected. We now know the majority of our neurotransmitters are made in the gut. So could healing your gut help your anxiety? The answer is probably. The research in mice says yes. It looks promising for us as well.

Quick start:

  • bone broth: heal the lining of the gut
  • probiotics: repopulate the gut with good bacteria
  • prebiotics: feed that healthy gut bacteria

My clinical experience so far has seen my anxious patients improve dramatically with the above.

One of my favourite resources that I share: Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. She was well ahead of her time with this great book.

More on the gut to come...
