Today while my mother was assisting me with my food she told me that the other patient that was sitting a few seats after me went back to dialysis after suffering from organ rejection. He had been a transplant patient for about five years and the donor apparently was one of his children.

Transplanted organs are not permanent and there are many cases of rejections but my friend way back when I was still just starting with dialysis got her transplant and she is still living today. Now she is about 16 years a transplant patient.

I do envy her because she just had a donor from one of her relatives but the organ lasted until now. If only I had my own kidney transplant my life would have been different today, it is just I only have one brother that supported me and he is just not enough while my friend had several siblings of hers that supported her.

Even a kidney transplant is not a permanent solution but a patient can get multiple transplants one after the other provided that they can afford it and maybe passed some clearance tests again.

If I were to have a transplant I will value it with all my heart but time can tell if that would be a gift for me to receive but if not then I will just be thankful that at least I had seen and experienced this world and had met a lot of people that loved me.
