True but we all consume small amounts when we brush our teeth how is this to be avoided other than using fluoride free toothpaste? Our water is also fluoridated?

You can install water filters to remove fluoride - or use a distiller to clean the water thoroughly, such as I described here.
However, the best outcome is for fluoride to never be put in the water in the first place, which means coming together actively in the community to get it stopped.
