DIET AND EXERCISE WON’T MAKE YOU HEALTHY!
Let me rephrase the title, Diet and Exercise won’t make you healthy alone. Yeah, I intentionally hid the word alone. That’s one way of getting the attention.
The point here is that there is a missing link and until and unless you work on that you won’t get the desired result. Hope, the article will put a full stop on most of your health-related issues.
Who is the richest person on Earth?
Obviously, I am not seeking the name of the person who is at the top of the Forbes list of the 500 richest people in the world. The answer I am seeking here is that Health is the most precious gift of life and the one who has it is the richest. Now before you argue, hear me out.
If you have lived enough, then you must have faced some health issues by now. If you go back to that painful moment then I am pretty sure that the only thought you had that time was to get well soon and get out of that anyhow.
No matter how beautiful the weather is, you won’t enjoy driving your Mercedes; if you have back pain. You won’t enjoy watching the most awaited movie; if you have a headache. When it comes to health, nothing else matters, not even money.
If you are sleeping peacefully at night then you are much richer than the one who is taking sleeping pills( bought with his hard earned money) to get just the sleep.
You must have seen people wandering around you with lots of health issues despite following a healthy lifestyle and contrary to this there are those who are healthy even after having their daily dose of junk foods. It seems that the answer to all the health problems doesn’t lie only in diet and exercise, something must be missing there. The article is all about joining the dots to get the desired health.
So, the biggest secret to blissful health is Gratitude. It’s not a secret though but despite having numerous scientific studies about the power of gratitude, people are not incorporating it in their day to day life.
The above quote perfectly describes the human behavior. We still take our health for granted. We are not grateful for what we already have. Following a healthy lifestyle is worthless without having an attitude of gratitude in that.
Just scan your current health condition and you will be able to know how much grateful you have been for your health. We are ungrateful souls especially when it comes to health and the moment we lose it; our only priority becomes to get healthy again.
By being grateful for your health, you will not only maintain your current good health but will also send a signal to the Universe to bring more good health. But remember, the feeling is important here. Words don’t matter, the feeling does. No matter what words you are using to be grateful, it won’t create any difference until you actually mean it. The intensity of your feeling should be strong.
And even if you think that your health is not good and there is nothing to be grateful for; let me say straight to your face that you are lying. You still have so much to be grateful for. Let’s dig into some of those ‘so much’ here.
I am assuming that you are reading this article through your eyes only unless science has developed something else by the time this article reaches you.
Just do it now
Close your eyes right now (I mean after reading this paragraph). Start thinking all the things about your eyes for which you are grateful for. Think why you are grateful for. Visualize them. Feel as much grateful as you can for it. The intensity of feeling is the key here. And at the end say Thank you with a full heart.
The higher the intensity of feeling the sooner the result would start appearing in your life.
If you are still struggling to find the numerous benefits of the eyes you have. Just for the sake of writing some of them are:
You can see your loved ones. You can see yourself in the mirror whether you still have any hairs left or not. You can see what you are eating so that you don’t eat something you didn’t intend to. Just put your eyes blindfold just for an hour and you will feel the importance of eyes in your life. The point is that there are countless benefits you are getting with your eyes but you don’t have a single second to pause and feel gratitude for it.
And I hope, you have some other body parts apart from your eyes as well. Take out some time and try to feel grateful for them as well. This exercise might look simple but is very powerful. Just do it for few days with consistency and you will see that your health will get healthy (I just tried to be funny here).
Quick list of other organs you can be grateful for
Arms and hands, Ears, Heart, Cells, Brain, Hairs, Sense of smell, Sense of touch
I bet some of them are listed here, you haven’t been grateful even once in this lifetime. Don’t worry; there is a famous Indian saying
Jab jago tab savera
This is similar to the popular English phrase – “Better late than never“. So when we wake up to a reality, it is time for us to (re)act.
You can extend this process to other areas of your life. The gratitude works not only for any chronic diseases but also for very small ones like mood change, headache, anxiety and whatever you can name it.
Now it’s up to you. It can be a life-changing article or another article which is just read and forgotten. The ball is in your court now.
Please do let me know in the comment section if you have also experienced the power of gratitude in your life.

I was going to upvote you because I read the post and liked it. But then I realised it was lifted from Rhondda byrne. It's good that you sourced it, but that's not what steemit is about. You clearly have a positive mindset and that's fantastic. Now how about let's see you give freely to the community ideas which are yours. I'm saying this because I love this community, but we are only valuable if we share our own ideas, not recycle others. I hope you appreciate the way in which this feedback is given, it is because I wish you to grow, along with steemit.
I appreciate your genuine feedback. I would rather call it inspired by the mentioned book. I have been personally following the idea for more than a year now and have seen enormous benefits from it. The influence of it on my health motivated me to share it with the ones who might be missing the awareness of it in their life.
I am writing some other articles as well which are the results of my very own practices and experiences. Hope you would enjoy reading them.
I have just started writing articles and at this very starting stage, your advice is really valuable to me. Thanks.
