RE: The Mentality of the Obese

in #health5 years ago (edited)

An interesting look-see at obesity and also a great sales pitch for a HUGELY important product-service. :) I think your post is excellent on the research and physical side, but in my experience obesity is almost always an EMOTIONAL condition. Really hoping we can have a LOT more content - also on @naturalmedicine - about obesity, metabolism and weight loss. In many ways the "Big is Beautiful" is right, but has sold us a lie - and being obese is dangerous, harmful and both reduces life quality and shortens lifespan.

I'm still a trim, fit and slim 68kg at almost 56 years of age (Im 187cm tall - 6 foot 2 inch) and never really "diet" to stay that way. It's a lifestyle that is learned. Appreciate having some good teachers out here on the frontlines of what could be argued is the western world's greatest health problem.

Have always been intrigued by your steem ID. :) Following you.

Thanks for the comment. I chose ZenFit (Zen Fitness) because of the oriental influence on my fitness philosophy, almost minimalist.

It's never about fancy pharmaceutical products for weight loss or miracle supplements, being fit should be as intuitive as going to take a shit.

The challenge is modifying our lifestyle considering the technological advances that are being done every day in order to make our life more efficient and less active (this is not about bashing technology, I'm in fact a progressist, but about finding the balance for each of us).

Indeed obesity is closely related to emotions, that's why changes will only last as long as the mind of the individual remains at higher awareness levels.
