The Science of Marijuana :- How THC Affects THE BRAIN.

Well, Yesterday while surfing the internet on topic of Marijuana I found major drawback of it that is THC (short for tetrahydrocannabinol) and which everyone should know. So, through this post I am going to inform you all about this demerit.

First of all, What is Marijuana.

Marijuana is one of the most abused drugs in the world.Marijuana comes from the Indian hemp plant, and the part that contains the “drug” is found primarily in the flowers (commonly called the “buds”) and much less in the seeds, leaves, and stems of the plant.There are over 400 chemicals in marijuana and hashish. The chemical that causes intoxication or the “high” in users is called THC. THC creates the mind-altering effects that classifies marijuana as a “drug.”

Effect of THC our Brains.

As you can see in some of the countries for example:- US, where marijuana is legal. Due to which, most people think that it has no risk while smoking. But here they are wrong, Because as per on scientific researches, scientists found that Marijuana effect directly to Judgment of the person and can impair human's ability to drive.

Now here one question arise in-front of scientists that How does it effect the person's ability to Function?

As, researches on Marijuana was began in mid 1960s, after the identification of THC. And after several decades of research scientists found the site where Marijuana act called Cannabinoid (CB) receptors and also discovered an important communications system in the brain and the body, which they called the Endocannabinoid (EC) System. And, this EC system is made from two natural chemical cell called Anandamide and 2-AG (2-arachidonoyl glycerol). EC system is used by the brain cells to communicate with each other. And, THC make this system slow and disturb their communication. Hence which leads to change in human behavior and sometime overdose give birth to a serious problem.

Now another quetions that rise is How THC effect EC(Endocannabinoid) system?

After some researches about its working, scientists come to a point that,People when smoke Marijuana, Then THC gets into the brain rapidly and attaches to Cannabinoid receptors( Brain's natural chemicals). The natural EC system is finely tuned to react appropriately to incoming information. But THC overwhelms the EC system. It prevents the natural chemicals from doing their job properly and throws the whole system off balance.

As Cannabinoid recetors are present in many parts of brain, So the effect of the effect of THC is wide-ranging:- Like it slow down the person's reaction (Such as Athletic skills), disrupt mind catching power, cause anxiety, and affect judgment.
