In my opinion its best to avoid antibiotics, steroids and other prescription meds when possible since they're not only potentially bad for you, but they come with environmental risks. They often contaminate the local water table and drinking water supplies affecting even those not taking them. Sometimes however it is necessary to use them. Everything in moderation they say.
