Update: As Hard fork of bitcoin draws near
Hey folks!
Hope you are prepared for what happens should the hard fork of bitcoin occurs on August 1st, 2017.
Just a quick reminder of what you need to do before August 1st..
Ensure your bitcoin are stored in a wallet where you have access to your private key/recovery phrase/recovery seed e.g Blockchain, Coinomi, Electrum, Mycelium e.t.c. Some wallets have signalled that they will not be supporting the altcoin, bitcoin cash resulting from the bitcoin hard fork. Some of those wallet are Coinbase, Circle e.t.c.
Try to remove your bitcoin from bitcoin trading exchanges that do not support bitcoin cash.Exchanges such as Coinbase, Bitstamp, Cryptopia. Most exchanges are in support of bitcoin cash e.g Bittrex, Okcoin, Allcoin, Kraken, Bitfinex, Hitbtc, Bithumb. While some exchanges are yet to decide e.g Livecoin, C-cex, Yobit, Poloniex.
Please refrain from making transaction i.e sending or receiving bitcoin during the period of the hard fork.
A note of warning, be careful of website/wallet that you enter your private keys as the rate of phishing website or fraud wallet have increased during this hard fork period with their aim being to steal your hard earned bitcoin.
