Traits that happy people have in common

in #happy7 years ago (edited)

Surely, happiness is the main objective of man. The paths to reach it, however, are not clear. But now, science has detected five common traits of happy people, The Independent notes.

  1. They prefer time to money. A study published by Social Psychology and Personality Science reveals that happier people often opt for time rather than money when they are asked what they would rather have more.

  2. They live comfortably, financially speaking. Another study suggests that mental well-being increases in the same way as income, but up to a limit of 66,500 euros per year. From there, there is no relationship between getting richer and being happier.

  3. They spend their money not on objects, but on experiences. A Cornell University study says that people who spend their money on experiences, doing things, rather than things, are happier. The preparation and waiting for an experience is more satisfactory than the preparation and waiting for a material purchase.

  4. Have good relationships. There are two studies that ensure that one of the keys to happiness is maintaining close relationships with other people.

  5. They take a nap. Research from the University of Hertfordshire reveals that a 30-minute nap a day improves people's happiness.
