Hallucination : Real is not Real

in #hallucination8 years ago

Hallucinations are sensations and feelings that are actually created by our mind but aren’t real. There are practically 5 senses in a human body namely Sight, Hearing, Smell, Touch and Taste. All these senses are controlled by our brain. In fact, our brain is so powerful that it can simulate our sense organs giving the appearance of reality but not real which in result is called hallucination. e.g A person may hear voices or see pictures that are just illusion and created by their brain. When a person comes in contact with things like touch, food and more its brain start processing to identify and if not there then store it as a new entity. Our brain keeps on accumulating information itself unconsciously and come into action when needed.

There can be several types of Hallucination. A person may have hallucination of hearing voices while some may have in sight. Hallucination of combined senses has a much more stronger effect than individual senses. A person having illusion of hearing, smelling and touching will be much more stronger and appear real than a person having only hearing or smelling or touching illusion.

Types of Hallucinations

  • Auditory Hallucination : It is one of the common type of illusion. A person suffering from auditory hallucination may hear someone talking or saying about things and yourself or sound echo. This is all illusion but it appears very real to the victim.
  • Visual Hallucination : When a person see things that are not actually is called Visual Hallucination. Commonly visual hallucination may include illusions of lights, objects, people faces and more. Visual hallucination is so real to victim that he/she try to touch and feel it.

  • Gustatory Hallucination : Gustatory Hallucination is also one of the most common hallucination and gives the perception of taste. A person may feel inappropriate and unpleasant tastes encountering this type of hallucination.
  • Somatic Hallucination : It is one of the strongest type of hallucination which gives the perception of a physical experience. It is rare as compared to other hallucinations and is most difficult to get rid of.

Causes of Hallucination

  • Alcohol : Overdose of alcohol is one of the common cause of hallucination. Drunk people don’t have control over their mind so they see what their brain wanted them to see and create visual and auditory hallucinations. Tactile hallucination is very rarely found on drunkards because alcohol diminishes touch senses.
  • Stress, depression and inappropriate sleep : Stress, depression and lack of sleep are also another causes of hallucination. The hallucination is of mild to medium or rarely medium to severe level. It can be easily avoided by taking appropriate sleeps and avoiding stress.
  • Mental Illness : It is also one of the common cause of hallucination. People that are not mentally well tend to have hallucinations several times a day. These hallucination may include all types. The Situation may become much worse when all these hallucination appear in a combined form.

  • Recovery : It is very difficult for drugs addict to recover from their drug addiction but when they try to leave drugs(cocaine, heroine, amphetamines and more) they tend to have hallucinations. Generally, these hallucination are much more stronger and powerful as compared to other causes.

Back when I was a younger less self loving @klye used to take a fair share of psychedilics. Mainly LSD, DMT but also some of the 2-C series by Alexander Shulgin as well as their recent spin off the 25x series. While these days I avoid such mind warping substances for the most part I must heed warning to those thinking of going full psychonaut.

If you don't treat your body, mind and soul right and abuse psychedelics you'll end up with HPPD..
Meaning that basically I'm constantly hallucinating slightly when I'm awake. Not as fun one may think. :P

It's not nearly as "trippy" as you may think on the contrary it can actually be annoying at times.. Generally my hallucinations consist of white noise on coloured surfaces, shadows that seem to defy light at times as well as what I call pinholes.. Basically imagine the tiniest most intense bright thing you've ever seen but when you go to focuss your eyes on it.. it's gone.. Also bright objects tend to get stuck in my frame of vision for much longer than before I abused psychedelics.

Stay off the Drugs kids! Psychedelic Hallucinatin' can be bad MMmmm'kay?
If you're gonna do it.. Be smart about it. Respect yourself and those around you.

We need more people like you to guide others. Completely agree with you @klye

I wouldn't consider myself a role model personally.. Have lived however!

Hopefully the mistakes I've made in my life I can help others avoid is my thought.
