Halloween is almost here, and there will be Undead walking around! Zombies, ghosts, skeletons and vampires!
Here's a psychedelic song called, We Have Already Died, by The Boston Tea Party. This band was from...
Ha, sorry, NOT Boston! They were from Burbank and featured 2 brothers named Richard and Robert DePerna. As Brandon DePerna says in the comments:
Richard DePerna on bass...my dad. Uncle Robert on keyboards. Love it! Thank you for the video & keeping this alive.
... Makes me happy seeing their music on YouTube & people still appreciating it. Keeps my dad & uncle Robert alive in my heart. Even though " they have already died".
The band had some singles that didn't chart. Then in 1968 they released an album which contained this strange 2 and a half minute tune featuring trippy guitar and some flanging effects on the vocals.
The vocals start the song off, then the instruments and first verse kick in.
We have already died! We have already died!
I find that I can't see you tonight, there's always something going through my head.
I think that I should go away 'cause if I stay I know I'll soon be dead!
You picked the wrong place to hide, for we have already died!
The video that the poster put together for this song is pretty cool too!
It features pretty girls and actresses from the 60s. Some of them are smoking. This was fashionable at the time. But now we know that smoking kills, and many people have kicked this habit. Now it's rare to see people smoking, even in tobacco growing states like North Carolina. Don't start smoking, kids!
OK, PSA over! Now enjoy the psychedelic sounds of The Boston Tea Party, from California, singing We Have Already Died! Happy Halloween!
