HAIRSHARES, ANOTHER GREAT INITIATIVE!

If you don't know I am with WhaleShares community from the start and I learned a lot here. One idea is far stronger than the rest though - every one of you can make a change in the world with steemit. It doesn't matter if it is only a project that help people on steemit or it is international project in the whole world - everything counts!

WhaleShares community is full of amazing people that want to change the world to the better one. Fuzzy taught me one thing. We all should try to have our own initiatives and put them out here. We should show them and make people aware. Even fuzzy himself has some great projects under his sleeves that can be done with the help of steemit for steemit.

I would like to present you one of the project that were made in the minds of WhaleShares community. The main initiator is Nepd and the project is called HairShares.

HairShares is about giving your hair to charity organizations that make custom wigs. Those wigs then help kids and people fighting cancers or any illnesses that can mean hair-loss. Make those people smile again. Smile is the strongest cure!

You will not put your hair away for free. If you create a post on steemit donating hair to those charities you will be rewarded with HairShare tokens that can be used for upvoting your posts, just like with WhaleShare or BeyondBit tokens. You can also try to contact some salons to raise awareness. Every bit counts!

Each Hair Donation charity has different criteria for accepting hair. It pays to look into what those are before heading to the salon. Here are the three major charities and what they require:

Pantene Beautiful Lengths
Length: 8 inches minimum
Condition: No split ends. No dyed, bleached or chemically treated hair. Less than 5% gray.

Wigs For Kids
Length: 12 inches minimum
Condition: Split ends are fine. No gray, permed, color-treated or highlighted hair accepted.

Locks For Love
Length: 10 inches minimum
Condition: Split ends, colored, permed hair are all fine. No bleached or highlighted hair allowed.
