Style It Up

When I joined Steemit and saw posts which were neatly styled. I thought how the F... did they do that? This gonna take forever to learn. But I was wrong, these are easy (markdown) codes. Or whatever they may call them. Those markdown codes can make your post look a lot more attractive and easier to read. And it's much fun to be creative.

So this post I keep it basic I'm gonna tell what I know. There is probably much more. But this is a cool way to start working with codes. So to brief it up shortly:

  • Center your text and/or photos.
  • Placing your picture left or right
  • A simple line to close your post or to start a new chapter.
  • Using Links
  • Headers/titles

Centering

Centering your text or photo is a piece of cake. But makes a big difference. If I just put the codes in this post. You wouldn't see anything. therefore I'm gonna put a space in the codes, so you can read the codes. When you make a post of course you should leave out the space. For example: E xambl e But you use example. Sorry if I'm not being clear but the t.h.c. got my flying.

< center > Title < /center >

I'm gonna remind you a couple times, leave out the space between the codes. The / is to close the code.

It will look like this:

Title

< center >
If you want to center a whole text you can also do < center > above
and to close :
< /center >

Placing your photo

Placing your photos left or right. very simple code < div class="pull-right" > (leave out spaces, the space between div and class is correct) and use to close the code: < /div > (Leave out he space between) Works just like the center codes

To place the photo left just fill left instead of right.
Smoke a joint.

Line

This is maybe the easiest one. But I find it very necessary in a post just < hr > and there you go, you got a line. One again leave out the spaces

Links

Easy does it. This time I'm gonna use a question mark to make the code visible, when you use the code, you should of course leave the ? out.
[Image for example]?(steemitexample.com) Leave out the ? and there you go super easy. But looks neater if you ask me.

Titles

Titles make a post a lot neater. Just put a # for the title or whichever words or sentences you want to be bigger.
To make it smaller then them the #first one just write the code ## and for even smaller ### and so on.

Like I said there are much more "codes" you can do. Once I read @smysullivan/markdown-formatting-a-minnows-tale, I slowly started to learn the codes and still learning. I suggest you read it also. Just practise and you will succeed. You can see under your post the preview how it's gonna look like. Good luck.

sexy-girl-kiss-smiley-emoticon.gifThis is great. Keep posting more info on this. Kudos.

Thanks! :)

Great post, very informative. I primarily use html because it's a language I've known for many years and obviously worls well with markdown most of the time. You have to add more code than markdown and that can be tedious, but like yourself I'm still familiarizing myself with the markdown syntaxs.

This cave man never used a html markdown code in his life, at steemit was the first time. :) But I really lik, and since steemit, I look at a different way at other sides. thanks for dropping by.

Awesome post! I needed this. Quick question cause I can't figure it out. How do I increase text size?

These tips can make a big difference to your posts. Markdown is very effective.

Exactly, its really makes a difference.

Thank you 4 sharing this information;)

My pleasure:)
