Hate and Abuse - Strong language diluted by snowflakes with an ego

Thankfully, people have opinion formed from their own freewill, sometimes through educated knowledge, sometimes without reason but that's how it is. Opinion matters in all walks of life, so why do some people find it so difficult to accept that everyone has a birthright to an opinion even if it doesn't agree with theirs?

I find the hypocrisy so strange that some people who post their thoughts and comments on a public forum for the whole world to see suddenly become enraged when anyone puts forward an opposing view and then compounds that by levelling accusations of hate and jealousy based on no other reason other than that they disagree on an issue, squealing about being abused and hated, turning someones honest opinion into something far more sinister and dramatic.

These accusations of hate are often followed by sentences such as; 'if you've nothing nice to say, don't say anything' or 'if you don't like what I write, don't read it', immature arguments, often born from self-inflated egos desperately seeking attention and reinforcement.

Often then, the rhetoric is ramped up. 'You're abusing me' comes the accusing cry. Abuse ?? No, it's criticism. By what standard are you again using such a strong word ? The problem with using such strong language in such a way is that it dilutes it's intensity and reduces the number of superlatives we have at out disposal to address real instances of abuse, and thats a huge shame.

Which of these do you consider to be abuse?

a. 'I think you're cheating the system and really think your content is rubbish'

b. 'You're a fucking ugly fat waste of space'

Many people seem to consider a. as abuse, but if that is so, how do you describe b. ? For me, the options in English have run out and I think it demeans the worse of these 2 statements, ie b., by calling them both 'abuse'.

Forums such as Steemit are full of this. Some people post and expect everyone to agree and to like what they posted, err no. Life doesn't work that way. Humanity is made of opinion and discussion, and it is the respect we should have for others to voice their opinions which allows us a species to evolve and move forward.

When people refuse to allow or accept others opinions, you end up with North Korea.

If you can't stand a little heat in life, I'd suggest you get out of the kitchen. (Phrase chosen carefully to suit the reason behind this article!)

I prefer to preserve my hate for significant people.

The question is: If you see something you don't like or don't agree with, how exactly should you express it when expressing it with respect and politeness is met with howls of 'abuse'?
