Growth-ideas: Bridging Learning Platforms (Like MOODLE) With STEEM Rewards
Learning is boring. It sucks. Steeming is fun. It rocks. Let's mash it up!
The problem
It is hard to rely on word of mouth to get people to start using Steemit. I have tried. It does not work.
Why?
People do not believe crypto has real value. They just do not.
Blogging is not extremely simple. It requires some effort. This turns off a vast majority of people who look for quick and easy thrills online.
The solution
Make people use Steemit by force. Their superiors could force them. By superior I mean anyone who you obey to go on with your daily routine as you please. Someone who you listen not to get pleasure but to avoid unnecessary pain.
Principle is: Use Steemit to avoid pain.
Steemit is a tool to review the quality of someone’s written work. Who also depends on the quality and dissemination of people’s written work? Institutions of learning. Schools and universities.
Is writing essays on plethora of subjects during classes meaningless? I could argue that it is. You get graded on it. Then you move on with your life.
What if you submitted your work, earned money in the process and got even a better grade because you were incentivised to do so? Level of academic achievement would also rise (in theory).
I believe this approach would be most successful in universities due to the level of maturity.
How?
Send many, many clear letters of invitation to different heads of such institutions to get their subordinates to join Steemit (or a sibling platform which uses STEEM). Send free T-shirts or other paraphernalia to get them on board. Even better, organise conferences. These are the places where people would actually be willing to listen.
Why would these people listen?
They want to get academic credit and recognition for novelty - their ego.
They want to be paid more - their money.
They want students to share the burden of review and grading - their time.
Example scenario
Teacher assigns a topic. Philosophy of language and Wittgenstein, for example.
Wittgenstein never takes on an explicitly stated philosophical theory, and most of his energies seem to be directed toward more naive forms of thought. Why does he do this? What power does his work hold if it does not tackle more sophisticated theories?
Now imagine how incentivised students would be to develop their theories to do their research paper properly. Ok, maybe they would not be in Sweden but they definitely would be in Macedonia or some other backwater country.
Who would share the profits? Students, the professor or the institution and how to make it happen so they can share? That is something to work out.
In Croatia, during my studies, some professors used platform built on Moodle. We had to hand our assignments over it and we got extra credits sometimes.
How will you prove your project was a success?
Make it small scale at the start. Get it going in one institution and hear what people have to say.

I think you've perhaps motivated me to add a referal bonus onto the STEEM.GLOBAL faucet and allow folks to earn a bit of steem through spreading the word like you do with the link in the footer of the post..!
